usually yes. somehow it always has undertones (or overtones) of self-entitlement. it seems like as soon as they choose to "go for it" they completely stop seeing you as human and you're just a target or even an obstacle...an obstacle to what they want, which is you (??). so there is automatically some subtle contempt in there too. fucked up

This actually explains a lot. My mom even told me once she didn't like this (MALE) person because she got the idea he felt like he was "entitled" to me.

But I don't feel like females ever do this or at least if they "go for it" there isn't the same intent

There's this kind of sexuality that is like the only reason you have feelings for someone is if you have bonded deeply with the person. It's not about their looks or achievements or even sex. See but I forgot the name of this but does this sound good to you? This is like what human sexuality would be like if the world was perfect

I agree with this on some level but I feel like sexuality is kind of inseparable from the physicality of it. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. but what's bad is when sex trumps everything else about life. sexual/romantic relationships are held up as the peak of human existence, like it doesn't get any deeper or more significant or enjoyable than that, which is clearly bullshit.

thanks. what i'd figured you'd say, but the 99% figure threw me. then again, i would expect to be much less attuned to (subtler) power imbalances in relationships than you, so i suppose that makes sense after all
