well i can only advise my 13 year old self to which i say trust yourself and avoid the internet

I would visit late prehistory...figure out what happened there

I live with a 24 year old girl named Josie who is pretty sweet, a chatty cathy yes, has horrible taste in men but really what's new. we just went through a weird cycle of roommates. we had a schizophrenic guy (brother of Josie's friend) off his meds staying here. we didn't know he was schizophrenic til he was here and he scared the shit out of us (not respecting boundaries and just a general bad bad vibe) and then it turns out his family (supposedly people Josie's known for a long time and is totally BFFs with) have a restraining order against this dude because he beat his disabled father. he's been gone for a week. just got a new roommate and Josie is really attracted to him so I look forward to the ensuing drama. edit: I live in a fairly spacious apartment on the cheap

Good stuff so far.

1) Your favorite city in the world?
2) Do you have a comfort food your mom/dad/grandparents/whomever used to make back in the "good ol' days?"
3) Are you in college? If not do you have a job?
4) Any particular reason you don't like me? I only ask because our direct interaction has been probably one if the smallest of anyone on this board.
5) What's your favorite beverage, not counting water or coffee?

1. probably Tokyo even though I've never been, I just like looking at it.
2. not really since my parents didn't really cook. hot and sour soup reminds me of my fave chinese restaurant as a kid
3. I am in college. I wound up switching my major and transferring to community college for a spell which I'm almost done with and then i'll finish somewhere else. it's taking forever but at least I'm happy with my decision
4. pretty sure I just pegged you as a misogynist and a libertarian at some point but I kind of forget. there are a lot of people on this board I don't interact with.
5. Coke Zero but it has to be from McDonalds

well I used to think pretty highly of my brother but that's kind of been ruined. male friendships pretty much never pan out and several have ended in the past year. but I do have some acquaintances and teachers who are male that I like and don't feel disrespected by thus far.

yup! I've been twice and it was amazing both times. sadly I have discovered I'm allergic to wheat so I will have to weigh the consequences if I want to go again.

I remember someone saying something about how you were religious once. What's the deal with that?

awesome. (not the wheat allergy.) i am envious. (not about the wheat allergy.) i just got home after a month in europe – among other things, i went to a bunch of amazing pizzerias in naples and rome. scholls has dropped to #2 on my list. i wish i could go back there right now.

on a related note, what are the best places to eat in portland?

I have libertarian tendencies on so e things but I'm very far from a misogynist. Just for future references.

Follow up: What will be your major and what (ideally) do you want to do?

Yes. I was raised protestant - evangelical, sola scriptura whatever. My mother has always been deeply religious while my father was a 'hardcore atheist' until around the same time I stopped believing at age 14, at which point he "became a Christian". Then I went through a very angry New Atheist phase in which I was openly hostile to religion and blamed it for everything, which lasted like 3 years. Then I started to see it differently and stopped hating on religion. Now I am kinda reconsidering the whole issue for myself.
