I get nfl network and red zone on Comcast...I think I'm like 1 step above basic. Red Zone is the most essential thing

i've only seen red zone a few times and i dislike it, there's absolutely no way to get a feel for any of the games and a lot of the times they're showing horseshit when there's a close game on

i remember one time they were just showing the falcons and the panthers killing time after that one huge game newton had and they were up like 35 billion points, meanwhile, unbeknownst to the red zone tools since it was a defensive midfield game the giants were playing someone close

but i really feel like the league finally started to get some real traction over the last few years. they really shouldn't piss it away.

if you have a ps3 just get NHL Gamecenter. It's cheaper, unlike Center Ice all of the games are HD, and you can watch on the PC or smartphone as well. It's what I use.

EDIT:
Available on a lot more than just PS3 it seems

only thing i have is the iphone. and i don't wanna watch games on that.

last year i was gifted center ice for my birthday (which conveniently coincides with the beginning of hockey season). gonna shoot for that again. good to know that works with roku though.

If you get DirecTV you can pretty much get the NFL package free every year. My contract expires yearly in August and every year I call them up tell them how much I like their service but that cable is making me an offer I can't refuse. Like clockwork, the first tier call taker offers like $20 off the bill every month. I politely tell them that this won't do and get connected to cancellation. Once there, they always start to wheel and deal. This year I got the NFL package for free and an extra $30 off my bill every month.

It pains me very much that we're facing another lockout in the NHL. It almost seems like an insult that everything is going along per usual leading up to training camp. The Bolts are all in Tampa taking part in informal workouts/scrimmages as if nothing is wrong. Tomorrow night- boom, shut it all down.

It's hard to stay neutral in this fight as the players really do seem to be in the right. They already agreed to a roll-back of salaries 7 years ago and gave ground on everything the owners wanted. The league's revenues have grown more than a billion dollars since then and the owners are still pissing and moaning. But, with Donald Fehr at the head of the NHLPA I fear that even if the owners give tons of ground the union won't be satisfied. Fuck I can't stomach another winter without hockey and if we get to the lockout point both sides seem ready to dig in for the long haul

League revenue is up about 70% overthe last 7 years, and the owners want to cut players shares. The players said "ok, we will cut a little" and the owners said "fuck you, huge cuts."

It's asinine.

It also makes me laugh how the owner's are saying "Oh geez we need to do something about these ridiculous 15 year, cap circumventing contracts!" Last I checked, it's the GMs that they hired who are dishing those contracts out. I'd like to say "Oh they'll pay this time- the fans will be heard" but I know it's bullshit because all of the fans (me included) will come crawling back the second this is resolved. Fuck.
