Default Corgan calls Iha “one of the worst human beings I’ve ever met”

http://hipstersunited.wordpress.com/...darcy-wretzky/

What did James ever do to Billy, other than walk out of their last concert without speaking to him?

Billy keeps bringing up his hate for James almost every year and can't seem to let it go.

Monte will you please call Billy on his cell phone and ask him if he will do an interview with you. Something more in depth about what James as done. It's like every time there is a new release, Billy has to rag on James.

I was shocked to hear that James walked off from the final show, playing for four hours together, and didn't even say goodbye to Jimmy or Billy. I don't know a lot about James except for his was always weird and quiet. But what kind of person holds that much resentment and animosity toward the people who made him rich and famous? He was biting the hand that fed him, he doesn't sound like the nicest or most sound-minded person in the world...

I remember at sacred + profane how James played most of that night with his back to the audience. He kept all of the way back and barely interacted with anyone. It was strange. A lot of people were yelling out to him and only twice did he walk up toward them but that was it.

I heard James masturbated in Billy's sandals before the show.

Billy doesn't come off as very sane either. In his interview with Antiquiet, he said that people have been telling him who he is since 1989. I think he pretty much shows who he really is by the shit talking he does. James hasn't said anything in nearly ten years toward Billy. He never responds to the craziness.

I think billy should just do an interview and let it all hang out. Just tell the world what James has done.

thing with james is he's so private its hard to gauge one way or another how he really is. with the rest of the band you can get a general idea with how things played out the last 20 years

my guess is he's been filing lawsuits recently. up until a few years ago billy's template for discussing james in interviews was "he's pulled some fucked up shit - but he's still a good person" yadda yadda

Are you kidding? James fucking sucks. he resented Billy for being a "repressed talent" despite the fact that he couldn't write or sing for SHIT. he was biting the hand that fed him because his ego outsized his talent, unlike Billy who's arrogance is totally warranted as his talent is proportional to the shit he talks.

Billy blames and trashes James because after James left, that's when everyone started hating his music. Billy can't stand people claiming that James was the reason the Pumpkins were successful. Every time an interviewer or fan brings up James' contributions, Billy has to make sure that the world knows that James didn't do shit for the band. Basically, Billy uses the ghost of James as the crutch argument for why people can't get over liking older SP songs versus the newer, shittier stuff.

Billy knows James is never coming back because James got fed up with Billy's horse shit back in 1999. But to keep appearances up, James agreed to one more album and a final tour.

Howard Stern hit the nail on the head: maybe it's not the fault of everyone else, but rather it's that Billy is way too difficult to have a relationship with?

Say what you want about James, but two things are clear:

1: James has never said a bad word about Billy since the final show in 2000. If James was such an awful person; he sure has a kind way of showing it.

2: Billy has alienated every person he's ever befriended, worked with or dated. Seems to me that if everyone else is wrong and Billy is right, then it's probably the other way around.

Blew Away, Go, and that song on Mellon Collie (untr00 fan alert).

The "noisy, anarchic" solos like the one in Zero.

After Zwan Billy claimed that James was "flawed, but a good person", while the Zwan people were amoral, terrible etc.

Billy is full of shit. I really can't stand him anymore.

Radiohead FTW!

Just reading between the lines a little bit, but I think what happened in Zwan can give us a clue to what happened in the Pumpkins. Billy got really fed up with band members sleeping with each other. His reaction was... I want to get out of here as soon as possible. Why would THAT be his reaction? Something bad must have happened just like that in SP. We know Iha and D'arcy were a couple once. So... James sleeps with D'arcy upsets the psychological balance of the band. While Billy's writes the songs, James controls the heart of the band. He creates the divisions and holds D'arcy hostage. This power struggle drives Billy mad because it's no longer about the music. Essentially James can't compete with Billy on musical terms so he found another way to upset the balance and assert his authority. What makes it especially bad is that James probably did it on purpose. When I saw the band in 98 I was really surprised by how genuinely nice Billy was and how extremely bitter and hateful James was. Towards the end of Transmission James took over and let out about 20 f-bombs. Was it the crowd? The heat? or the Charity show? Could of it been bitterness towards Billy and the new direction of the band?

I just remember in the making of adore documentary how d´arcy and Iha looked like they were waiting for a bus to take them to a cooler band or something.

why do so many people assume that James is just a nice guy who did no wrong and billy is just making shit up?

It's obvious from the behavior of both of them that they were not getting along. I doubt that the destruction of their relationship was all billy's fault. the band was dysfunctional. everybody in the band was/is dysfunctional. James is not an innocent victim. he was there with the rest of them, making dumb ass decisions, doing stupid things, blowing up one of the best bands that ever existed.

Let's put the pieces together people:

You're in a band. After three years of working with this band, you aren't allowed to play guitar on your first record.

Then you aren't allowed to play on your second album either. You're not even allowed to play on these two songs you wrote, arguably the best songs on the album. That album becomes a success.

Then you write a bunch of songs for the third album, only for all but two to be rejected. That album becomes a success.

Then you put out your own solo album, which fails commercially.

Do you really blame James for walking off? He was sick of Corgan's shit.
