I know you were put off by the whole revenge on Nazis concept. But I was able to overlook that and found a compelling story and interesting characters. They actually didn't spend nearly as much time on the revenge killings as one might expect from the way the movie was promoted or seeing the trailers.

Pitt's character was supposed to be based on George Bush wasn't it? He's depicted as a redneck. He isn't supposed to be the most appealing of characters. It's not as if there is some righteousness in what he and his men are doing. They are being led by a hillbilly. But at the same time he isn't without some charm.

Isn't there some irony that the leader of this group that are going around killing Nazis isn't even a Jewish guy but some hick. In a lot of ways he's manipulating the disdain he knows that they have for the Nazis and has turned that disdain into fuel for revenge.
