it's harder to lose one set than two, don't you think? even if they're in the same pocket?

so yeah i was missing vit D and E almost completely. i'm on a multi now

i've kinda been stuck at 40 lbs down for a few weeks. i totally sabotage myself by eating after i take my meds at night. it's only good stuff, like fruit, but it adds up and also i can't afford to eat 5+ dollars worth of fruit every night.

so yeah, wassup with all of you?

I'm stuck at 21 lbs. I really want to start a low-carb diet, but we haven't had a chance to go shopping yet, so I'm still eating shit.

Also, I have trouble eating breakfast, so I thought maybe I'd start making some protein shakes... Oh hell no. Chocolate whey protein tastes like feet. Adding coffee helped a little bit, but damn.

i have problems with breakfast too. i've never tried whey protein, doesn't sound appealing

i dont think i could really do low carb. i mean, the only carbs i really eat are fruit, brown rice, beans and starchy veggies, but they add up to a lot. i mean, just the bowl of rice and beans i eat most days is about 100 carbs. i try to eat 50% carbs 25 fat 25 protein but i usually am under on fat and over on carbs

it's frustrating the week i'm on my period. scale says i gained 6 lbs but i know it's just water. i should probably just skip weighing during this week from now on

i'm gonna put my face and hair on a diet... gonna try washing my face w/ only natural stuff (this morning i used coffee grounds and some other junk) and using apple cider vinegar/baking soda for cleaning my hair. experimenting with more-or-less bi-weekly hair treatments might be cool, too.

ballet classes start in september. woo.

here is a list, along with recipes, of face masks/scrubs:

There is a ton of info on whey out there. I'll say it can taste great and get you a easily to the max protein your body can even absorb in1 day (about 50 grams, depending on your leucine intake) but you'll pick up weight from it. Mostly water, but I definitely wouldn't use it to supplement cutting.

oh yeah. and i told tim i wanted to get more protein. in addition to making an attempt to eat more beans, fish, etc. i wanna possibly start taking a supplement maybe in the form of a shake in the morning. i should probs look on that bodybuilding forum for advice about what's best/not the best. my working out is leaving me just super skinny instead of building any muscle. i guess i could use more weight training, too. uuuugh.

You're not going to lose weight and gain muscle, at least not enough to use time wisely. You either build or you cut.

If you want more muscle, you need to hit your body with enough calories to add mass. Or if you want to burn fat, not just lose some water, you've got to use more calories than you consume. That's why most people will build for .5-1 year, then cut for a while, then build, then cut, et cetera.

i know all about bulking and cutting, which is why i wanted to add more protein/calories to my diet. i'm definitely active but i need to work on all the stuff needed to build muscle. there is a pay as you gym ($10) i was considering using maybe 2x week for weight training but i'm a little shy about going to new places alone, especially when i don't know EXACTLY what i'm doing. i think two hours at a time would be enough.

You could pick up some free weights and train at home. Unless you want to get into huge weight bench presses and squats, those should be fine for you. And they'd pay for themselves if you're considering going to a gym.

Do you have a routine? Not to be a dick, but that's literally the only way I get off my butt. Like I'd say "I'm working out Mon/Tues/Wed, period." Then after two weeks it's just what you do, you get used to it, and you look forward to it rather than put it off. I have no routine now, and it shows. Your schedule may make that hard or impossible though. But my two cents is just get a routine and stick to it to get yourself motivated and active.

they have the option to walk-in and pay $10 which doesn't seem like a big deal, but it really is. the most other gyms will offer is to let you have 1-week free and then hound you to buy expensive memberships.

I got a message from someone today on my fitness pal who wants to walk with me. You're right, I need a routine. I was doing ok at first with the exercise but have gotten lazy again. I think the walking pal will help me, I won't let other people down as easily as I let down myself (as far as putting it off/flaking).

i stopped in at a gym near me. Their pay-as-you-go is $12 a week. That seems pretty good.

This is reassuring. I pay $33.95 a fortnight at my gym and that was the 12 month price, and I just go there to burn calories so I can lose weight but I'm packing on muscle everywhere despite not doing any weights. Muscle is heavy and bulky and I don't want it! But I have the kind of body that builds it, evidently. So if I just keep a calorie deficit eventually I'll lose that too? I see all these skinny guys lifting weights and they have these slender little legs and I just think man I wish we could swap. You can have this stupid muscle building body and I'll have your skinny tiny one instead.
