Default weight loss thread

ok so since november-ish i've lost 38 lbs. still a fatass, but a bit better

who else is trying to lose weight? how's it going? anyone trying to gain?

How'd you do it? I've put on a lot of weight in the past year and half. I've hit that wall at 30 years old where my metabolism is really slowing down, my testosterone is dropping, etc.

I lost a good deal of weight about 4 years ago through diet and exercise. I've been trying to lose weight recently and I'm down 15 lbs. Just watching what I eat, not drinking as much, and trying to hit the gym for some cardio/sauna. I need to get back into weight-lifting, though. When I dropped the weight 4 years ago, it was with cardio/weight training/diet.

Haven't tried any drugs or supplements or anything.

Just watching what I eat and walking/jogging lightly... mostly it's the food.

Like today I went to the store and got a ton of fruit, oatmeal, granola bars, eggs, spinach and broccoli

that's basically my basic diet.

i never was a big soda drinker but i love gatorade. stopped that. i still get one like once a week.

my issue is i dont get hungry really, except at night after i take some of my meds. then i binge - seroquel makes you hungry as fuck. so what i've done with that is splitting my doses (with the OK of my doc) and so taking some in the morning and so i've been able to eat a little breakfast

the year before I started losing I gained about 50, maybe 60 lbs, and i attribute it mostly to medication. so im still heavier than i am used to being

but fuck that shit. i can still take it and lose weight. proven that to myself. also starting to reduce the dose slowly so that won't hurt :-)

im afraid when i hit 30ish im going to become one of those 600lb people who cant walk (ok not really). trying to be proactive (about to turn 27)

wow, 38lbs is a great. good job! keep it up!

I've lost 5lbs since January. I expect to lose 10 more between now and July. mostly just by exercising a lot (riding my bike 10+ hrs a week). I've got several 50-100 mile mountain bike races planned between now and mid summer. working out that much allows me to eat almost as much as I want and still lose a little weight.

When I was 29 I lost 50lbs in 3 months by going total ana

It was right before my divorce and I was married to an emotional black hole who constantly told me I was an overweight, lazy, terrible human being and that I would die alone with no friends or family and I would deserve it. I'm 6'1" tall and I went from 200lbs to 150lbs over the course of that summer. After I got divorced I started eating again and I gained back 15lbs and got in really good shape.

i've always been active and keeping fit is important to me. i don't really care about what the scale says anymore (my mother never kept one in her home and i've never had one myself). i was weighed at the doctor's office a few weeks ago and was 112.

today is my second day of boot camp classes!

hey great job reprise keep it up!

I'm trying to gain muscle and get in shape :/ I'm a terrible eater, no appetite. Most of the time i forget to eat. I know that sounds weird but it's true. Then i'm suddenly starving and i shove something in as fast as i can to shut up my body and keep going about my life.

it doesnt sound weird to me. i get very few hunger cues. yes i realize i am overweight and this sounds dumb. but it is true

Also last night I happened to type out a 6 week pull up workout program, for me to start up again, all you need is an Iron Gym to get started, no weights, here's the link if anyone else is interested.

Link is on the bottom, there's two files, one word document 4 pgs. long that describes each workout, and an excel sheet that tracks your progress.

thanks! i did watch the video and read what you uploaded. i like the walk forever thing, i used to do that when i was extremely anxious/aggravated... just walk and walk... good for the soul

pull ups sound interesting. there's no way i could even do one but i see it accounts for that in the workout. good stuff, thanks

my abs of flab are creeping back thanks to working overtime. still burn about 1000 calories a day at the gym but its abrogated by my predilection to fried chicken and beer

i've said this before but you really cannot unequivocally dismiss all mexican food in "the north"

most, yes. but not all. chicago has some good spots. and my hometown is a destination for undocumented immigrants (and documented ones, i guess) so we have a solid handful of good spots.
