Thumbs up i'm never rude to service people on the phone.

but this lady is driving me nuts. i interrupted her and said 'ya know, it really sounds to me like you're reading from a script... if you can't help me that's fine, but we need to stop wasting each other's time and i need to speak with someone who can help me.'

she put me on hold and when she came back she sounded pissed but was able to give me my refund.

i've had to talk to comcast customer service like a thousand times and one time i was so fucking frustrated that i was probably rude to the guy. probably more exasperated and angry with the situation than rude to him but i still felt bad.

another time this guy asked me like 14 times if i had a router. then he asked me if i had some box that had an antenna that i used for wireless internet and i was like "YOU MEAN LIKE A ROUTER? BECAUSE NO I DO NOT HAVE A ROUTER." that guy was the fucking WORST. ugh.

I learned not to diss customer service ppl when i started traveling for work. whether it's on the phone or at the counter in the airport, you get to your objective when you treat them with respect. Half the time they have no power to help much anyway.

i always start out nice. try and give them a chance. if they are human and treat me like one, too, then everything is great. even if they can't help me as long as they're cool, i'm cool.

but if i start out really calm and friendly and they're still some braindead asswhipe who takes me in circles and wastes my time and doesnt listen to anything i say, i get impatient and ask for someone else or turn into an asshole.

she kept telling me she couldn't reverse the charges. i said 'i know how this works. you can't until i get upset enough and i don't want to get upset, but i want those charges reversed.'

I didn't mean to say you were disrespectful. Just stating how I handle Cust Service.

When I get a shitty one on the phone I simply demand to speak with a supervisor. I used to really lose my shit with them (yell, scream, etc.) but it never got me anywhere.

What I despise is talking to an automated system. Anything beyond Yes or No ticks me off like nothing else. I don't want to be forced to speak my choices like 'get my balance' so everyone around me has to hear what I'm calling about. Just let me press a number that corresponds to a list of choices for FUCK's sake. I'm irritated just thinking about it.

i spoke with an AT&T rep the other day, was of course indian, no surprise there, but he hardly knew english at all and i could only understand one or two works out of a sentence. it was infuriating i just hung up

so then i call again and somehow the next rep is even worse. what the fuck. this is AT&T we're talking about you'd think they could manage some better outsourcing

or i guess its kind of ingenious because i never got an answer why my bill was jacked way up so i just paid it anyway

i totally lost my shit on a telemarketer that kept calling my office phone 3-4 times a day the other day. i vented like 6 weeks worth of pain and frustration on this poor girl but in my defense i had been politely but firmly telling them to stop calling me several times a day and they weren't listening.

this is another animal. the first couple of times yes, i'll politely ask to not be called. but being woken up every morning, or being called multiple times daily eventually leads to some angry words. i force them to hang up on me. they don't usually call back.

So I bought HID headlights for my girlfriend’s car and after only two weeks one of the ballasts went and now she only has one headlight. These took two weeks to arrive and were a pain in the ass to install. So I emailed them about the problem and they told me I had to ship them back on my own dime (not Monte's) before they would send a replacement. I called and was polite at first but grew increasingly angry...pointing out that I should not incur monetary loss for their crappy craftsmanship....after a lot of back in forth and explaining how my policies differ from theirs, I asked the rep if he had any ballasts nearby. After an awkward silence he said ‘yeah, there’s a few around here,’ I said ‘good, gather them up and shove them up your ass!’

He hung up and I ordered a replacement from amazon. I don’t think they’re going to mail me anything.

I used to be the nicest person to customer service reps but I have no mercy nowadays. If they’re the voice of a corporation then I’ll say what I want but only after I’ve exhausted the nice route.

I used to work in customer service and a black woman once called me upset that she owed over $500 on her bill. She wanted those charges cleared on the basis that she is a spiritual woman and a child of God. When I told her I was sorry and couldn't do it, she said "Blood of Jesus on you, and blood of Jesus on your company". Craziest call I think I ever got next to another person threatening to blow up my car if I didn't reverse their charges.
