What I know is that Paterno did a fuck load more good for that university and people who came through it and people who played under him than any bad that came from a few people being molested that he in hindsight may not have reported to enough people about.

Did he really know though? The guy who was set in place to replace Paterno, and someone lower in the chain comes to Paterno with what had to be an outrageous claim about someone that Paterno had known and worked closely with for 30+ years. People are always trying to move up the ladder in the world and don't be shocked if someone below you tries to go over you and slander you as a way to get ahead. But it was a serious enough of an accusal that Paterno took it to the heads of Penn State so that they could investigate it.

there's another clip (second on the list of upcoming videos after this one plays) that shows students walking past the camera.... all of them making a scene in front of it like they're SO EXCITED TO BE ON TV!

not excusing paterno, but the grad assistant should have stopped it straight away AND then told paterno who in turn should have gone immediately to authorities without mitigating the details, which he seems to have done.

... to just see that and then walk off? not cool!

This. If Paterno was just told there was goofing around, he really had no real reason probably to go make a MASSIVE deal on this.

I have more reasons to trust Paterno's word though over head of campus police who didn't press his dept to take any action and a AD who despises Paterno.

Paterno did fuck up. The question of how large still in unanswered fully.

It is telling to me the BoT fired Paterno yet Curly and Shulz are still employed at PSU. PSU I fully believe scapegoated Paterno to save their much bigger fuck up.

They should all be fired. Shoud have been done Monday.

People keep saying this. I guess you can argue that the one who's on leave is still "employed," but the guy who "returned to retirement, effective immediately" is not still employed at PSU.
