As a result, my reply contained a detailed critique of the Australian accent, in terms that would not only encourage forum members to actually continue reading what is, sadly, a lengthy post when compared to the majority of what one might find on this forum, but also provide details on what, exactly, makes their accent so bad.

As I have already described, the tone of my reply was intended to entertain. I was fully aware that the enjoyment of myself, in writing it, and other members, in reading it, would come at the expense of the Australian user. However, as he saw fit to insult the New Zealand accent in a thread that did not ask for reference to anything but the American, I considered it his problem if he was offended by a response to it. I wrote my reply in such a way that it amused me, as I am rather fond of writing in a creative manner, and any enjoyment on the part of other users was something I readily welcomed. The feedback that I have received has indicated, to me, that I was successful in my ambition.

As referenced above, I have previously offended you by jokingly using the n-word, in chat. This word does not carry any weight, in New Zealand, as it is never used as a racial slur. I did not understand what it meant to you, as I was ignorant of your experiences. Here, in this thread, we are seeing the reverse of that situation, where it is you that does not understand, Ale. I do not remember what my response to your complaint, in chat, might have been, at the time. I doubt that it involved replying with a caricatured textual impersonation of how I believe Black Americans to speak, however. Nor would I later go on towards referring to Black Americans as contributing nothing to the world at large, or as living in the shadow of my own race.

Are you honestly unable to see things from my perspective, in this matter? Is the Australian user's lack of a compelling writing style truly enough to excuse him of any perceived wrongdoing? Is it not still assault when you are punched by a weakling? I think that part of the problem is my dry sense of humor, really. It requires some level of both intuition and intellect to understand. It comes as absolutely no surprise, to me, that the users on this board for whom I had already held the greatest levels of respect are the very same that have responded in a positive way to my contributions. It is likely because they actually understand what I'm doing. I can, however, understand your own position, as you created the thread for a purpose greatly different from what has now dominated the dialogue.

As one might imagine, given the time I have spent in Australia, many of the greatest friends I've ever had are Australian. Additionally, I already told Heather, in chat, to disregard everything I have said in this thread as not applying to her. I would extend the same advice to Linda, whom I hope I have not inadvertently offended.

The user to whom I keep replying, however...? He has demonstrated so many of the negative traits that I became all too familiar with that I gave him the same treatment I was forced to give many of his wretched kind. Many of my comments were designed to actually test his responses, to determine how much he deserved. That is why I wrote so much, really, though I stopped short of saying more than you would think. When you grow up in an environment that is frequently found to be hostile, you soon learn that the best response to being flicked on the nose is to bash your attacker in the face with a cinderblock. It is a shame that some of them are too foolish to walk away, before I have do it again.
