and again the free market does not fix the unsustainable growth pattern, it merely expedites the rise of entire cities full of slums, wide spread poverty, disease, and death.

granted, it'll work to destroy and depopulate the entire planet.

i used to be a centrist, but as soon as i realized that essential every decent step forward for humanity was done by liberals while conservatives have done nothing but make the rich richer and the poor poorer it kind of made the decision easier for me.

yeah you're still operating on their terms, mooney. you're making steps towards the real, but you're still locked in the capitalist fantasy.

brendan is just mad that i didn't agree with his staunch anti-nuclear power stance on a facebook post.

he may call it phony liberalism, i call it pragmatism. *shrugs* i've long since developed an easy apathy to somebody purposely baiting me.

for the record i don't think the current economic system is sustainable when the gap between rich and poor widens to historic levels and government bends to the will of amoral corporate interests and real journalism dies.

I've just outgrown the desire to yell at people about it.

I'm not really a liberal anymore. I'm somewhat agnostic with my political views these days. I am thinking it's time we do away with the two party system anyways.

I plan to just cure cancer, patent the cure, sell the production rights to my patent for limited time (if possible), become a millionaire, use my millions to produce the cure and then give away the cure for free and ruin the pharmaceutical industry forever.

On that note did you guys know they could patent genes? They need to prove certain things before doing so but it doesn't really seem like its that hard to get around, especially if you have good lawyers I would imagine and the lack of any deep biotech knowledge from capital hill. Patented genes, in you or I.. wild. I wonder if the same people allowing this are the ones saying that embryonic stem cells have rights? Do the genes that make the embryos not have rights? I want my genes to have their rights they deserve.

No but seriously the biotech industry is growing like crazy, the laws really need to catch up.

Yes. I keep up with Supreme Court cases. My brain seems to flag them as being important when they come up. Supreme Court is where a lot of the actual transformitive change happens in this country, not that it's entirely a good thing that a group of 9 old people nobody voted for decide major social and legal change but you know, whatever.

you're being extra cunty lately. just for the sake of it . are you ok? is everything ok at home?

clearly by "did you know" i meant it more of a hey fyi guys, i learned of this and I wasn't sure if you, like myself, were unaware of it-SO I thought i would share it with you

Actually reading that post again.. I'm not sure if you are serious. You do seem the type to read things like that in the paper or whatver. If so, carry on. (but that doesn't change you being cunty lately)

well that depends on what you mean by "control earth" doesn't it. regulate the climate? nudge it off its axis? modify its orbit about the sun? detonate it?

Technically it's "bimmer" not "beamer." Bimmer refers to the cars, whereas beamer refers to the motorcycles.
