Default Hey nerdphorians, quick question

If/when you have kids, would you want them to watch all six star wars movies in chronological order, or order of release? It would certainly be difficult to convince a kid who'd just had to sit through Attack Of The Clones that it was worth hanging around to make it to Empire Strikes Back, but on the other hand if they have a high bullshit tolerance getting to see the context of Anakin's fall to the dark side would certainly lend a sort of poignancy to the events of the original trilogy that none of us will ever really be able to know.

This is the kind of shit that keeps me awake at night.

you have to start with the original trilogy because of the difference in special effects.

I'd make them watch the originals and forbid them to watch the new ones.

Well I have a 5 year old and a 6 year old, and they certainly have the attention span to sit through one of the Star Wars movies, but not all six in a row. And for them, the whole Anakin/Darth Vader thing is a bit confusing because they haven't sat and watched it in a row (holy fuk too much TV for them!).

My kids get it now after I had explained it a number of times, but I mean when you're 5 or 6, it's hard to grasp that there are actually 6 of these movies, and that this one that you're watching right now is out of context from the series as a whole. So yeah, my 5-year old was watching like Episode 2 and asking "Daddy, where's Dark Mader?" and for me to say "Oh, no that's him right there, but it was when he was a good guy, but THEN he's a bad guy and his son is fighting him..." he'd just give me a lolwut-look, because to him it's just one move called Star Wars.

Am I the only one who ansered this seriously?

1, 2, 4, 5, 3, 6.

keeps the "i am your father" reveal until episode 5, you see the backstory in episode 3, and the the triumphant finish in 6.

alternate option, ditch 1 and 2 because they suck and just do 4 5 3 6.

when I was 12 you had to think outside the box to see some porn.
I remember my mother and siblings and i had moved into an apartment building while she was busy divorcing my little brothers father. To prove some kind of point in some weird south african women of the early 90s way, her and some friends gathered a bunch of porn magazines together and she gave them to him when he came round the flat again. I am not sure what statement was intended, maybe she caught him looking at a porn mag or something, but she seemed pretty smug about the whole thing. I had worked out what was afoot by over hearing conversations people assumed kids weren't listening to. So when he seemed less than impressed I made sure to keep an eye on him when he left and, as I thought, he dumped the magazines in a bin on his way to his car.
Success! I went and recovered the porn collection when he drove off and got together some of the local kids from the building to share my treasure and cleverness and to try find a place to stash them.
Cause we lived in an apartment building none of us had spades, and although the best plan was obviously to bury them, instead we hid them in a packet under a rock. in a flower bed.
Last time i saw those magazines.

A few months, maybe even a year later, at a local small and unmaintained skate park there were torn up pieces of a porn magazine scattered everywhere. We joked about how someones wife must have found their secret collection, as this seemed to be the only reason to tear up porn, but I couldn't help thinking someone had stolen my briefly held porn teasure and was now taunting me.
