Default Would you be in favor of only allowing people who work to vote?

Restrict the vote to those who work and pay taxes (let's say for at least one full year of the past three in order to give the unemployed but willing a chance as well).

This would take away the vote from those who do not pay taxes and simply leech from society, or snot-nosed children of privilege who don't under stand what a full week of work is and yet proceed to tell everyone else "the way things should be."

No.

I'd restrict voting to only those who own property.

How about only people making over $65k a year can vote. I would like that.

I have a pretty awesome stolen mp3 collection. Does that count as property?

Then you're setting up a class system based on money. Plus you'd have a ton of voters in Arkansas and Alabama and few in New York City, for instance.

did you intentionally word the options stupidly or what

i mean its the modifications to the constitution that allowed more people to vote. so i'm not really sure what you're getting at there.

Land owners are the only people with skin in the game. You could extend to home owners to get around the condo hangup.

I had much longer answers but I had to truncate down to 100 characters so it doesn't make as much sense

I'd say it's more a matter of working people who pay income tax decided where their taxes get spent.

Do black people count as uniformed voters because of their prison garb?

Like Obama old Canute was surrounded by sycophants and butt-kissers who would tell him of his great power and how wonderful he was. One day when he and his courtiers were near the sea, they even told him that he could command the sea and make the tides to stop.

Well, he decided to teach them a lesson and he took them up on that challenge and had his throne placed at the water’s edge. He commanded the sea to stop and all he got were wet feet.

“Well, my friends," Canute said, "It seems I do not have quite so much power as you would have me believe. Perhaps you have learned something today. Perhaps now you will remember there is only one King who is all-powerful, and it is he who rules the sea, and holds "the ocean in the hollow of his hand. I suggest you reserve your praises for him."

The problem with the President is that he seems to actually believe what the butt-kissers and the sycophants in the mainstream media are telling him and thinks that unlike King Canute he can command the tide.

Or in this case stop the leak in the Gulf.

And the “anger” he is now displaying appears contrived. Real men don’t go around beating their chest with false bravado and boasting about “kicking ass”. They just kick ass.

King Canute was wise and that wisdom came from experience most of it bad I imagine. Obama’s absolute lack of experience and wisdom has finally caught up with him. And the world’s despots have sized him up over the last year and concluded he is weak and they can do what the hell they want to.

As we say out on the range. All hat and no cattle.

plus.. almost every person in the country pays taxes so why can't they vote. Just because the results don't suit your mindset doesn't mean they don't deserve a voice.

Seriously WTF?

fuck the constitution. if it's an unfair document than it needs to change. Please stop referring to it as if it's some unchangeable and infallible word of god.
