McElroy has been playing like utter crap. I'd say the UT backup is outplaying him. Even a little bit of decent play from the QB position for Bama and this isn't a ball game.

Whole game was a freak show. I wish McCoy hadn't been hurt. How anti-climactic.
Anyway Roll Tide and it feels good to make two QB's cry in back to back games. |

what a pile of fucking shit the game turned out to be. i feel for that gilbert kid, and i hope he has a good future. not only was he unprepared, but everyone else affiliated with the program just took a giant dump all over this game except shipley. |

the defense played like national champions. 3 of the Alabama touchdowns were directly Gilbert's fault, and you could argue 4 because of the defense getting no rest because of his 3 & outs.

so what man, look there was 17 earned points against the defense through most of the game. you can't stop everybody, god you know absolutely fucking nothing.
by the way how was that passing game working out for alabama anyway? |

thats exactly what i'm saying, what are you talking about
the whole complexion of the game was fucked up. saban was stupid for going conservative so early. we ran the ball for two straight quarters and never got in any sort of rhythm to be able to have a passing game. mcelroy had an off night and the texas defense was solid, but i don't think two 100 yard runners is something you just credit to your qb being knocked out |

also let's not forget the squib kick bouncing off the texas player into the arms of an alabama player. i don't even remember if that got turned into points but jesus christ that cannot happen.

you're just being difficult. alabama is, i believe, the better team. and they would have won regardless of mccoy's injury. but don't knock texas's defense. they were stout all night. |

too bad they couldn't do anything with it. |

naw dude. musberger called it an onside kick but it was clearly a squib. they were squibbing for most of the night, i believe.

what i saw was an aggressive defense getting big stops in the backfield and occasionally giving up big runs because of 1) talented backs and 2) overpursuit. i mean the same aggressiveness that creates big plays in the backfield will occasionally give up a big run. great backs run well against good defenses. the primary responsibility of the defense is to keep points off the board and they did that. you look at stats way too much this isn't fucking baseball. when you're going up against someone like ingram you're not going to be able to really stop him but you will be able to contain him. and the strategy was also to completely eliminate the passing game because one thing about allowing a lot of running yards is that it eats up time, big pass plays put the game out of reach. so sure they ran for 200 some odd yards but you're thinking about this just in that singular term, it's not like they allowed 450 yards of offense or something. I just love the homerism that Saban's brilliant mind decided not to pass instead of texas making sure they didn't want to pass. really typical from you |
