I remember this so well that I'm going to point out two basically irrelevant inaccuracies here.

It wasn't about him getting a raise but the average person. I imagine if it were affecting him personally he'd have made more of an effort to understand.

And he never ever claimed he was trolling. There were very few people who saw his posts so he just deleted them, claimed he was tidying up the thread, and then denied ever saying what he said.
