i hear ya. it might not be comforting to hear the brutal truth but at least you know where you stand, right?

most of my close girl friends (major buddies) are really nice and polite by nature. they strive really hard to be good people. in a perverse sort of way that drive holds them back from telling the truth in some situations. they'd rather spin a little white lie and try and let someone down gently than risk hurting someone. it's just the way they are.

they are also very socially adept creatures and very, very good at picking up on the subtext of a conversation. far better than i am for the most part.

years of misadventure has made me better at picking up these cues from women. i'm no super sleuth psychologist behavioral expert or whatever, i'm just better at 'getting it'.

look everyone's different and it's really hard to know what the hell is going on in someone's head or why they would react the way they do in a given situation. when there's unrequited feelings involved that can get a bit hurty i guess.
