some opener for sonic youth last year...they played tones at 200+ decibels for 20mins straight...thats right TONES. [no vocals, no instruments]

the sound sucked for EVERY band that night except james brown and coldplay.

zwan sounded _HORRIBLE_. i don't like zwan, but i know they're not as bad as they sounded that night.

some of the worst stuff i have seen:

MEN'S RECOVERY PROJECT. by far the biggest piece of crap i have ever seen. i have no idea how the fuck they were opening for autechre in dc.

sneaker pimps. they were opening for aphex twin!? bad bad bad.

garbage. simply awful.

marilyn manson. i don't think this needs any more comment. that was 9 years ago, i dislike them more now. i can't imagine how much i would hate to go to one of their shows now.

korn was shit.

i just saw black dice 4 nights in a row opening for godspeed you black emperor. they weren't bad the first night... but every night was the exact same two 'songs' for 45 minutes. i seriously hope they're not at every other godspeed show i'm going to in the near future. i know they're opening at at least one of the toronto shows (i think)
