Default what will a tinted windows success do for TSP?

I'm still a bit surprised about this tinted windows band, it sounds like it has some promise, I for one like LICD, my guess is they will have a few good tunes but will be pretty throwaway, but if not what will that do to BC?
I am hoping they do really well, get good reviews from both the media and fans and that we have a good solid album to listen to.
I think this would be great for the smashing pumpkins future music too. I think if Billy knew James had released a popular well selling album he'd bust a gut to come up with something to top it. MCIS was partially made as he wanted to prove the band was far superior to the BUSHs of this world that they were being lumped with. And he said once that if James came up with a cool guitar bit for a song, he'd always try and write a better one. So if tinted windows is a success then I think that is good for the next release of SP, it may be more substantial too than a single.

I'm guessing that you rooted for the Cardinals in the last Super Bowl. And Iraq in the last war.
Now don't get me wrong. I enjoyed Let it Come Down. And I do hope that Tainted Window has something to offer. I mean, hell, I'm prolly gonna listen anyway, so I might as well hope that I enjoy it for my own sake.
But I don't think that's it's gonna be even the same genre of music that the Smashing Pumpkins would 'compete' with, so I don't think there's anything for anyone to get their panties in a bunch about.
And what does success even mean for a weird-ass band like that? They get a song played on the radio? They sell 10 million records? Something in-between? (because I'm sure they've done worse or better as individual artists.)

Iha is an awful guitarist, terrible singer, and even worse songwriter. I fail to see how anyone who likes Corgan's songs could like any of Iha's pieces of shit.

I predict a boring album of soft pop songs with Iha's Ebow squealing in the background. Pass.

I think the reaction will be negligible. He probably make comment or two about it, and I do hope it's positive rather than depreciatory.

i only heard this one oh whao whoa song and it totally blows. This will do nothing for SP, because nobody cares either about the japanese dude that looks vaguely familiar, nor the old dude from that band they never saw on MTV nor a former Hanson. And not even I have ever given a shit about fountains of wayne, let alone hear anyone talk about them.
This isn't really a supergroup, it's a poor man's Zwan.

That was a really awkward video. I forgot the limp wristed way that Iha plays guitar. That isn't an insult, he just plays it like a fragile teenage girl.

"fragile teenage girl."

Exactly how I usually describe you, shatner.

Oh, on topic,

Billy will at one point say "Good for James." Then "Those guys are douchebags." Then "You know I haven't really talked to him since the band broke up, so, whatever."

Is that James whispering "rock... after dark" at the beginning over the main logo? This promo is actually kind of hilarious.
