here is the 4th.
Are you talking about my name?
It comes from a 90's interview with the Smashing Pumpkins
in which billy refers to himself as having a peanut brain.
I thought it was funny.

What happened here is that scientists are out of ideas and competing theories and felt the need to put everything to the test, public safety be damned.
Random chance of a cosmic ray causing the same thing to occur is orders of magnitude higher the collider causing anything.

Even if that is true, we're not *causing* it.

Personally I think the risk of creating a massive black hole is worth it

even if we did create a black hole, in the time it took to pass through earth it would only consume about a gram of matter or something stupid.

Nature is doing these experiements every day, in millions of ways.

I'm pretty excited about where this takes us.
All the science geeks are acting like it's christmas. that must mean something interesting.

No, I have been having this discussion for months now (not on the board) and haven't changed my position once.

Yeah, she's kind of a succubus, but I'm fine with it.

I won't go near her black hole, though.

Nah, I dunno. I'm just not a fan of the anal action.
Maybe I should get over it and have a gay adventure, but right now I'm very comfortable with my sexuality and the way I live it.

oh please, are you kidding me? i may not be an advanced physicist, but if stephen hawking says we'll be fine, we'll be fine.

besides, why would a bunch of undereducated idiots attempt to second-guess the smartest minds in the world? you know, dissenting scientists said a nuclear bomb would cause the atoms in the sky to fission in an uncontrolled reaction. that was bullshit too, and atomic scientists knew that before the test.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it - the question always had been what caused the big bang.
I think I got an idea...

If our atmosphere were 1.6 times heavier, it would have. And the scientists at the time admitted afterwards that they weren't sure.
