Red face the haunted ebay painting

some of you might be familiar with this but i just learned about it. i recall a poster here recently had an avatar showing a part of the painting in question, though i didn't know it at the time- still, it gave me goosebumps.

this is an interesting read, its basically an account of the painting's sale and an interview with the current owner.

WARNING: there is something genuinely, deeply unnerving about this picture you're about to see so if you plan on sleeping well tonight don't click on this:

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that the lighting is just different in that last picture

they put that in a child's room? I mean, it's creepy, why would you do that to a child? Of course they had nightmares.

sorry, i must have read too far into this without realizing.
still, if that picture was in my house at that age - dude even now, i'd totally have nightmares and see shit.

ONE MORNING OUR 4 AND 1/2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER CLAIMED, THAT THE CHILDREN IN THE PICTURE WERE FIGHTING, AND COMING INTO THE ROOM DURING THE NIGHT.

Some guy makes up a bullshit story to sell an ugly painting on ebay and years later people are still talking about it, this is a sad world we live in.

Looks kinda suitable for characters in a creepy metal video/album artwork.

Like KoRn or Marilyn Manson or something

in a way, i think the picture really does hold together as a "painting"...despite being more stylistically varied perhaps than coloring books, its unified by the rawness of the colors and their production...historically i think coloring books are far more significant body of work than cock, it has a lot more scope and anal depth, too, so i'll go with cock.

having read up about it and visited the artist's website does alleviate a lot of the mystery about the thing, but even then if you look at it alongside his other work, it still stands out. there is something profoundly weird about it i can't quite explain, or care to.

well, of course. you came into this thinking the painting mysterious and haunted; to admit that it is mundane and ordinary would be to admit to being deluded, possibly insane
