if it makes you feel any better isaw them and they weren't that good. i've heard tonnes of good things though so maybe it was an off night in a bad venue.

i was aware of another band i like playing that night. but they were local and passed the opportunity thinking "they'll be back".

my drummer went though and described it to me. "they sucked. for the first 10 minutes, the guy played one note while the drummer hit the tambourine every now and then." to me, that sounds fucking awesome. he didn't stay long enough to see if they played their more rockin shit. the venue they played usually cranks it too.

after seeing this, i can't imagine them being anything other than totally crucial live:

I lived in some suburb of Copenhagen when I was three, my dad was guest-teaching at the technical university. I remember there were gigantic slugs in the woods behind our house

the austin show as amazing. they played the whole last "untitled" track from Smile, and it was so fucking heavy at the end. and Michio Kurihawa was mixed in a lot better than last time.
