Default a GOOD new cure song

in my opinion.

but thats just me. i like it. it sounds like one of the lost wishes tapes instrumentals that i think simon or perry wrote. i hope his voice sounds better on album. but this is the first decent cure song i've heard since anything off wish.

listening now...

S/T was the awful self-parody album evey veteran band ends up making, but I really liked Bloodflowers.

My God, they're so old.

A bit long for what it was, but it wasn't bad.

was it just my computer, or did Jason Cooper fuck up on the drums at roughly 1:55?

does Porl really need that eye make-up at his age? lol. i don't think i'd ever really want to see these guys in concert. they almost just seem like exaggerated versions of their younger selves.

sounds like a generic slow Cure song with a long intro. though i've always preferred their poppier or heavier stuff, so i can't say i'm really excited about it.

that's pretty nice.

tracks 1 and 3 of S/T were actually awesome but the rest was boring

and s/t is really bad

yep yep. a MEDIOCRE song, but it's something and the first time ive heard something remotely not puke inducing by them in a while. i hate the self titled. ross robinson? jesus lord clit christ. and wild mood swings and bloodflowers were awful. there were maybe two or 3 songs out of that whole bunch and their b-sides. the zwan era.

but yeah, i just read an interview and my instincts were correct in that they went back to old unfinished material and even b-sides and tweaked em.

they are old. but everyone gets old. and he is fat and old. and fat. and he's also robert smith, which makes him fuckable to many.

but yeah, i think this song is a great mediocre one. it just reminds me of 90's cure and even touching on shit they havent, more shoegazey than they've tried to sound in a while and even though this is problem one out of 30 awful tracks, i'm really glad i can tolerate this and makes me optimistic for this fabled double album of dark and light. they always talk so much shit before their albums come out.

Thumbs up

it does very much sound like 90s cure. i really didn't expect it to be that good.

WMS and BF aren't masterpieces yeah, but they can't even compare to that s/t atrocity. BF is really musically/conceptually consistent and sometimes really compelling (if you can believe the drama that is, but isn't that always the case?). WMS has some truly excellent songs that rank with their best (this is a lie, the 13th, strange attraction, club america). sample awesome lyric: "we accept all major lies we love any kind of fraud...so go on in and enjoy!"
