Default The Verve's next album to be released in August

This is the only album that I'm really looking forward to so far this year. I hope that after more than ten years they don't dissapoint.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Verve

The band announced that the new album will be titled Four and is to be released internationally on August 18 and the following day in North America.[17]. The single "Love is Noise" will be released on August 4th.

I like their first two records - especially northern soul. urban hymns had two obviously outstanding moments weighed down by a glut of dreary ballads.

If they play anywhere near me, I'm going to bring a buddy and we're going to hold up a giant billboard reading "WE WERE ONLY FRESHMEN"

I bet it sucks. Nobody ever retains their greatness upon reforming, at least in a studio sense, more often than not live too.

For a start, I bet none of them are doped up to their eyeballs on ecstacy anymore. A primary ingredient of their previous work.

What does it sound like? Which of their old albums does it remind you of?

i loved their last album. one of the best albums of the 90s imo. i hope they can at least pull off a decent record after not being together for a good amount of time, but i'm not gonna get my hopes too high.

Ja, just watched the short Glastonbury highlights. If this is any indicator of what a new album's gonna be like, I'm not expecting anything special.
