"get ready" is actually my fav NO album (and not just cause billy's on it ). def. a contender for my fav album of this decade..
i was looking for a vid of 1963 (the original mix dammit, i hate that other one) but couldnt find it, so i uploaded the song:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mmobdx5mhtb

...

the perfect kiss

true faith

procession [live 81]

temptation [live 82] (i think the 87 version is the definitive, but this is cool)

blue monday

ha, this is cool, a "fan-made vid" for 'ceremony' done in the 80s on 8mm.

ah, and i just realised i'd never heard the original version of this song . maybe when billy said it's uncool to rerecord songs he was thinking of new order

the 1994 "best of" compilation is decent, or the 2005 "singles" one. or of course 1987's "substance"

uh, it's '5 8 6'
and it's a blue monday wannabe, not that there's anything wrong with that. actually blue monday itself is really similar to everything's gone green.

this thread inspired me to go check out New Order's Wikipedia page which lead me to checking out Joy Division's Wikipedia page which has caused me to now be watching "Control" on the internet. This movie is brilliant thusfar. Did you all get a chance to check it out?

i love the mournful sense of space in leave me alone - such simple chords but it sounds as "big" as any u2 epic and without the fucking bombast.

i only ever really listened to "get ready", i like it - it's a pretty good album
that old new order stuff doesn't really do it for me - the way i see it, a band like that relies pretty heavily on stellar production and arrangement, which i can't really say i heard on their 80's material

technique and republic are both very well produced albums and the songs shit on get ready. and true faith and blue monday still sound pretty good to my ears.

after careful consideration i've decided that the synths on "Your Silent Face" are just as good

when arcade covered aoc on their last tour it came dangerously close to being the high point of the set - and that was without the synths.
