central issue as you see it is that i spend a lot of time here? guess what, you're right, i do. i don't think anyone's disputing that. it still doesn't change the fact that you show blatant disregard for social norms by addressing me by my first name, even though you've been asked explicitly not to do so. it also doesn't change the fact that you're delusionally self-important enough to interpret the occasional casual barb as a deep personal insult which must be the result of an obsession with you. so i guess i'm not sure how me spending a lot of time here is "the central issue"

it's just etiquitte. let's say we're all in school and my name is jesse and your name is tom and that other guy's name is jay. let's say that jay's nickname for me is jess the mess, because we were at his house one time and i spilled some Sunny D on the floor and his mom called me that and it was a funny special memory. and you overhear jay call me that one day, and you start calling me jess the mess, even though you've never been formally told that about jess the mess, and i've never asked you to call me jess the mess; you just overheard it and essentially elbowed your way into a club to which you really don't belong.

it's not a calamity, and it's not the end of the world. but any normal person with a basic grasp on social norms would stop doing it if they were asked to do so.

using someone's real name on the internet, when they identify themself with a different name, is basically being on familiar terms with that person. if that person doesn't have a problem with it, then there's no issue. plenty of people prefer it. but i prefer to go by wHATcOLOR, unless i've interacted directly with a person many times or met them
