by the way on my second attempt (after actually listening carefully to the clips) i got 100%

its just a matter of knowing how the patterns work, so this test is not only inaccurate but ludicrously easy

see if i wrote this test it would be more textural. like, you'd hear a clip of a sound with a certain tone and frequency and i'd ask you to tell me whether it represented a square, circle or any other shape. kindof like identifying waveforms. then i might give you a more complex composition, kindof a soundscape, then i'd ask you to match it to a picture of something like a landscape or a space or scene. i think that would be far more revealing.

for as long as i can remember i've associated colors with the days of the week. also when i think about a week i see a week calendar, but it reads left to right. so it looks like

S/F/R/W/T/M/Sun

so whenever i count days or think about what i have to do on a particular day that pops up in my head and i go through the days left to right.

sunday is gold
monday is black
tuesday is light yellow
wed is a dark orange
thursday is brown
friday is like a grayish white
saturday is a dark blue

I visualize a lot of shit when people say words but it's not synestjoisjrs. is it possible that some preschool teacher taught you the days of the week or whatever on some calendar that looked like what you are visualizing? I mean I see the "L"s made by hands every time I think of left and right and that isn't anything special.

I watched a special on syenstisjros and it seemed to do with people who tasted words/music and people who actually SAW colors when people spoke or music played.

It seems like a pretty annoying abnormality but I think tasting music would be the most fun.

it seems weird that a teacher would teach the days of the week/months/etc in a counterclockwise circle, but i guess it's possible. But now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I knew the days of the week before I started school. I don't think what I have is nearly as interesting as tasting music or smelling shapes etc, but according to various things I've read, this is in fact one form of synesthesia. A boring form, admittedly.

This study compares the tendency for numerals to elicit spontaneous perceptions of colour or taste (synaesthesia) with the tendency to visualise numbers as occupying particular visuo-spatial configurations (number forms). The prevalence of number forms was found to be significantly higher in synaesthetes experiencing colour compared both to synaesthetes experiencing taste and to control participants lacking any synaesthetic experience. This suggests that the presence of synaesthetic colour sensations enhances the tendency to explicitly represent numbers in a visuo-spatial format although the two symptoms may nevertheless be logically independent (i.e. it is possible to have number forms without colour, and coloured numbers without forms). Number forms are equally common in men and women, unlike previous reports of synaesthesia that have suggested a strong female bias. Individuals who possess a number form are also likely to possess visuo-spatial forms for other ordinal sequences (e.g. days, months, letters) which suggests that it is the ordinal nature of numbers rather than numerical quantity that gives rise to this particular mode of representation. Finally, we also describe some consequences of number forms for performance in a number comparison task.

or another:

Another form of number-induced synaesthesia, one which the author of this piece has, is visuo-spatial number forms (Sagiv et al., 2006). In this form, numbers have a definite position in space. For example, my concept of zero is somewhere just below and to the right of my right shoulder. The idea of abstract forms existing in space extends to days (today is always in front of me, the future marches off to the right), months (June and July are at the top of a shallow, curving bridge) and letters of the alphabet (A, N and U are in a column).

There's more to synesthesia than just smelling colors and so on.
I don't think that what they're describing here is the same thing as seeing the Ls made by hands.

See, the months of the year go clockwise for me. But December is at the top of mine too
