Question have you ever been arrested?

if so, what for? the closest i've come is having to take a breathalizer after a cop noticed me in a parking lot, having just pulled over to puke. not sure what my blood alcohol was, but he told me to go home. i really wasn't feeling well tho. i did have a couple drinks that night.

yes, and it was fantasic. for breaking supposed, rumored laws. the best time i was drunk the cop asked me if i was drunk and if i had been drinking that evening and i burped and said "HAHAHA NO" and she said "are you sure, sir?" and i said "yeah... i'm drunk" and she high fived me.

i think of it as a personal investigation of how the legal system works for those criminally accused

First place I lived after moving out of my parents house, I was basically crashing on the floor of a 2 bedroom place that my brothers lived at. It was a crazy time with minimal responsibility. We did this one time, and we watched from the apartment as half the people turned on a side street and half saw that the road ahead didn't seem to be under construction and just drove through/over the cones.

Back when I was a senior in high school I was put in handcuffs for over an hour but eventually let go. Almost got arrested this past December but for some reason the cop was cool enough to just let me go. I don't feel like explaining the situations for either of these two occurrences.

As for being arrested, I think it's only been once, technically. I've been handcuffed three times, though.

I was arrested during the same time period as my previous post. We were bored on Halloween that year, so we drove over to a neighborhood and basically messed with peoples' decorations and smashed pumpkins, etc. Not proud of it but it was hilarious at the time.
Well, we stay in the area just a tad too long and, right when we're done for the night, a cop pulls us over saying that we match the description, blah blah.
All in all, my brother and I get arrested and taken to jail for theft (some parts of various decorations made it into our car) and vandalism. Brother was put in a cell (he fell asleep) and I was cuffed to the bench and made small talk with the arresting officer, even briefly talking about SP and music in general. My sister came and got us, but it could have been worse: my friend had stashed his pipe and sack of weed in my glove compartment (the one place, amazingly, the cops didn't check).
Our lawyer got the charges down to littering, lol.

The other time I was handcuffed was when I was tearing through a 30MPH zone (heavily populated, to boot) and, after getting out of the car, I was placed on the sidewalk in handcuffs while he searched my car.
What's funnt is, about an hour later, I went back to that area to hang out (it was the "nightlife area" in midtown KC) two people recognized me as "the guy who got pulled over on the corner."

The last time I was in handcuffs was when I was driving to Chicago and a cop in Iowa felt I was going too fast on a slight hill. He handcuffed me and searched my car, then let me sit in his car while he filled out the report because it was pretty hot out.

in his defense i was kinda going fast. like, 100 MPH on a 70 highway fast. plus he let me sit in his passenger seat, unhandcuffed.

*shrug*

but i imagine other people have had to deal with worse. i can imagine iowa highways don't see a whole lot of action.

Oh yeah, I forgot shoplifting. Got caught when I was like 16 and was detained until they called my parents.

Oh uh, well. Thanks to stupid netphoria, actually. I had a license plate stolen so I reported it on stupid Netphoria advice and then forgot to change the plates so I got pulled over and put in cuffs like three months later because they were checking if I stole the car. Lucky I had the title in my glove compartment. Then they ticketed me up for having expired tags and the wrong address on my drivers license. Oh and the shit I had to go through to get the right license, and I still haven't received one in the mail.

Fuck you Netphoria.

Me and a friend once got handcuffed because two cops thought we were gas-station robbers. And cops in this city regularly check my bag on the street looking for drugs. Never found any.

Pretty sure that's a violation of your rights. Unless those bastards have probable cause or are arresting you, tell em bugger off. If they insist get their badge # and file a complaint. They can't just go around checking bags.
