Book-related:
I went back to Urban Outfitters and I guess, besides Great Gatsby and Catcher In the Rye, the other book shirts are on their way out. So I was able to get a Catch-22 shirt for $10!!!! |

Mark twain was hilarious. I'm co-currently reading a book of all his short stories and there's some good stuff in it.

i wish i would read more books
i dreamed i was bossed around by old mutant ladies. then a guy was possessed by satan (there was blood and fire and pentagrams and everything) and tried to kill me, but i pointed my finger like a gun at his head and went boom and it blew off like a real shot. then i was standing by the water next to a girl and we started swaying so we had to hold hands not to fall |

Philp K. Dick - A Scanner Darkly
![]() I'd never read this before, and I fell asleep while watching the movie (twice). So I was absolutely surprised to find out that this was actually really, really good. A bit trippy, of course, but that was to be expected. A- Douglas Adams - The (Ultimate) Hitchhiker's Guide ![]() I've read this about twelve times by now, but never in English - and last week they finally released the complete hardcover version in Austria again. It was worth it for the sixth story ("Young Zaphod Plays It Safe") alone. A+ |

Yeah, but I read that book like twice a year, so I wanted to own it myself. Also, I recently asked you about it, and you said you're reading it yourself (AFAIR).
Do you by any chance own any book of the Dirk Gently series? |

A Farewell To Arms by Ernest Hemingway 06. Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky 07. The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane 08. 1984 by George Orwell 09. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley 10. Animal Farm by George Orwell 11. Lord of the Flies by William Golding 12. Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison Novellas 01. Anthem by Ayn Rand 02. Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde by R.L. Stevenson 03. When i finished it last night at worki was going to start on Ayn Rand's Romantic Manifesto but, i gotta tell ya, I loved Anthem ... I really just wasn't in the mood for her at 5:30am. so i picked out The Adventures of Tom Sawyer ... no i don't remember ever reading it. Last edited by D. : 10-07-2008 at 04:51 AM. |

lol, well i have a job where i sit for 8 hours a night; it's pretty easy.
i'd say maybe start with novellas and short stories.and yeah, from what little bio of AR i have read, she does kinda seem like a pretty shitty person but I'm planning on conquering Atlas Shrugged next year because I kept seeing it sitting in the bookstore calling me out and daring me to tackle it. |

huck finn was good, but not as good as tom sawyer. the liberal use of the n word made me kinda uncomfortable, but had no bearing on my opinion of it.
Next I will be reading A Tale of Two Cities by C. Dickens |

I left A Tale of Two Shitties over at my parents' during my weekly visit, and I just noticed it before work today.
So, I grabbed No One Belongs Here More Than You by Miranda July, the same lady that did the film You Me and Everyone We Know. I knew I could finish it in one sitting until I get my book back. Yeah, it wasn't that great. Only one story, "Mon Plaisir", stood out and it's the third to last story. Bah. Waste of time. EDIT: Still don't have my regular book, so I was able to quickly devour another one, Fake Liar Cheat by Tod Goldberg. It's basically one big rip-off of Chuck Palahniuk. In fact, I can't help but think it's the last 3rd of some lost CP novel. Last edited by D. : 10-22-2008 at 02:30 PM. |
