More studio material coming (album lovers fucked)!!!

Yeah, boo to no physical albums. I don't even have an iPod yet. Probably the only person left on the planet without one, but still... And even if it's true that people under 24 just buy songs, is that really SPs target audience? I can see why they would want it to be, but seems to me that most who bough the last album is at least pushing 30. You just have to go to a show to figure that out. And as far as I know, people my age still like physical albums. And buy alot of them.

Uhm, I take back what I said about not having an iPod, I just went out to an early birthday dinner with my best friend (I turn 29 on Sunday) and he had bought me an iPod for my birthday AND downloaded 336 Billy-songs for me.

I think one problem with the Billy's thinking for the last year or two is that he's been catering to the myspace crowd rather than the hardcore fans that he claims to love. The literal MySpace tribute album/promotion is a great example, not to mention the style of Zeitgeist, the limp political references, and his odd relationships with 20-something myspace women, from Linda Strawberry to that porno chick to that photographer to Ginger Reyes.

I'm very encouraged by JC saying this new stuff will be "grander". I think that's exactly the problem with Zeitgeist - it's "big" but its not "grand". SD, MCIS, and Adore were all "grand" albums, but Zeitgeist was just a rock marathon. I really like Zeitgeist but it's clearly not on the same level and doesn't even want to be.

He didn't say anything about SELLING the songs, how they would be sold, IF they would be sold, or if they'd let people decide what to pay in the same way radiohead or nin have done. He didn't say there wouldn't be a hard copy of these songs for people who might want to have that.

so WHY are all of you bitching and moaning as if he DID say these things? You're all fucking crazy, that's what you are. He said it won't be a record in the traditional sense, and that songs would be released individually, or as little blocks (like american gothic, i assume, which had a hard copy for those of you who don't want to download mp3s).
