Nope. I think it's awesome. At least I know I won't have to ask friends in the US to buy multiple copies of an album every time a new edition is released or wait until some unscrupulous bastard sells a limited edition on eBay for $50 more than its original retail...
Sure I love the artwork and physical tangibility of the album releases but it's exciting to hear that they're thinking of releasing tracks via such a universally accessible medium. |

nobody said anything bout itunes...mebbe stuff will be released for free online. jimmy said that they were moving into a space and going back to practicing everyday. i wouldn't be surprised to see something like a blog where "songs" in various shapes and forms are posted

I like the idea. Most people I know don't even use their cd players anymore. I can't really even say I do anymore unless it's to listen to a show. Radiohead and NIN have done it with great success, so why not the pumpkins? I understand Billy is not letting fans download flac files for free, but releasing music online seems to be the better play.

i think this ep release style is going to let them be more experimental and focused in tangent directions
we might just get our drone doom metal ep (or was that superchrist? maybe billy does read netphoria) i seriously doubt they're NEVER gonna do another album. Billy loves albums. Fuck, they put out the best double Album EVER. he cant help himself. it'd be awesome if they put out 2 EP's a year, an LP & half a dozen singles c'mon billy, show us the skillz. i can understand his love/hate relationship with fans misunderstanding of his masterpiece albums. he should just keep lying through his teeth "Mellon Collie isn't a concept album". |

He's done this before: TheFutureEmbraceI know, I know, he didn't have control over how it was released since he was under a record label, but it was the one album where he just put aside concerns about things like sales and public perception and did it from start to finish just how he wanted to. As for abandoning albums, it seems illogical to completely stop releasing music in a physical format. I mean, didn't Radiohead's In Rainbows only increase in sales/distribution after they released it in digital and CD retail stores? Quite frankly, as long as the largest retail stores in the country are selling CDs you need to give your fans the option to buy a CD complete with album artwork, regardless of how shitty that artwork may be :cough: Zeitgeist :cough: Not to mention the fact that you'll have fans who are willing to buy both digital and physical versions of the EP. They could do like Radiohead and release the music digitally on the band's official site, maybe allow the site's members to name their own price, and shortly thereafter release CD versions for purchase on the site or in retail stores. Although I love a physical release, I do not really use the actual CD anymore. I just rip it to the hard drive. I do use CD's in my car but I'm sure the next car I get will be able to use my ipod. So this does make sense. Doing what NIN has done with Ghosts is a great way to go.

When they say 10 people on stage I feel like they are going back to the adore days when they had like 3 drummers and keyboardist and god knows what else.

i wonder if they would set up a subscription service..you know $5 a month and you can d/l all the new SP songs straight from the studio...
I still preffer physical releases however rather than paying for an mp3 download... |

Billy wtf! I want physical albums, I just buy any SP album ever, I dont even need to listen it before or even like it (happened with Z). I just buy (coz I trust you). ...and Z worth (the slow 15 secs of Tarantula are divine
)And yes I simply dont buy internet music, too complicated process and is pointless at the end... To buy or to Download (not legal way) is the same shit, there's no difference... so what after I buy it on internet what tha fuck should I do with it? Burn it in a shitty 50pens CD wich will be lost as trash after some months?!? lol..... SP deverve more than it :| And the whole work and artwork of an album is something single songs on internet cant give us... :S |

Why not release it NIN way?
MP3/Apple Lossless/FLAC + CD/vinyl edition of EP (or if they release just 2-3 songs at time, then it could be a hard copy compilation of 6-7 songs every season). I mean if it would be only iTunes - then fuck it, most of countries outside of US don't have access to the service, and also I'm ready to pay for it the way it was with Ghosts - any audio format I'd like, but not strictly shitty AAC or MP3s. |

I haven't read the thread yet, but I'm sure someone has mentioned that Billy has been talking about doing this since the post-Adore days.
But I still listen to whole albums and I am over 24. |

I don't give a shit where the music comes from anymore, i would just like it to be good again, he can push mix tapes out of his trunk if he wants, just make good music.
