Ah, my post processing is lazy. I'll mess around on lightroom a bit and then layer the original over it, using corel photopaint, to keep it looking alright and close to the original. Cause I've been designing and illustrationg for so long, I have to fight the urge to process too much.
My 'dropshadow' is me duplicating the photo, filling it black, feathering the edge, making it transparent, and dropping it at the back, basically.

And thats post processing with barden, who has had his camera for 2 months! I know you love my expert opinions.

Oh yes, I used a 10 - 20mm. it is beautiful. It's a sigma, which is a generic brand, but I dont mind.

I also used two flash bulbs in the photo above. Mostly they weren't always in shot, but i liked how they balanced in the one above, so fuck it. Otherwise, the room was pitch black, so I was having trouble focusing even manually, since I couldn't see shit. I kept trying to trigger the bulbs with the rhythm, so as not to mess with everyones buzz, and it turned out to be pretty eerie with the spontaneous jam session. I'd reference the last photo on the screen to get an idea of focus adjustments for the next one.
Anyway, point of that whole thing was: light - pretty cool, pretty cool. Makes all the difference, especially when you got some control of it.

Here's my girlfriend and my dog. I tried to use some natural light in these. I dunno. I got some rad ones on the 50mm too, but i havent had time to process anything yet. Those ones might be better, but this is what I have for now:

I dont know which one I like, I dont know if I like any of them, fuck this photography shit it is messing with my life.
Anyway, I havent watermarked that shit yet netphoria, dont steal pictures of my dog! Although, I dont think I am very good yet, so this stuff is all pretty much disposable.

i use 35mm, 85mm, and 135mm primes on a full frame camera.

first step in post, and essentially the most important, is fixing the white balance. getting the white balance right in camera with shitty music venue lighting is near impossible. i usually adjust wb manually until face tones look right, and this alone usually makes the pictures look a ton better.

next i usually increase the exposure a bit, then go a little nuts on the tone curve in lightroom. bump up the 'clarity' slider some, add sharpening and noise reduction.

often there won't be enough fill light, so i will use an adjustment brush to bump up the exposure of faces and whatnot.

Cute kid.

Here is a picture of something I had to shoot for work - it's the decapitated head of an Egyptian Mummy:

It rattled when it was moved around.
