Did Trent listen to the Stigmata OST?

Huge props to Trent for an amazing album but did Billy beat him to the punch with the Stigmata OST? Having said that, Billy should definitely start paying attention to Trent. The marketing + the music is genius.

Oh and Machina II was free 8 years before Ghosts was.

Really, I think Trent and Billy should just get in the ol' octagon together. Billy's got more reach, but I bet Trent's more powerful. Who'd win?? Trent will want to take the fight to the ground, but billy will be throwing so many kicks and punches, trent won't be able to get him down.

Billy is the Rodney Dangerfield of alternative rock that's why. Oh wait, or he is that guy that invented the light bulb before Edison but Edison took all the credit.

Oh, and Trent would destroy Billy I would think. Ever since he's been sober he's been ripped.

Have you seen Trent lately? He would fucking annihilate Billy. Guy is built like a fucking pit bull and would sink his shoulder bending Billy over and breaking him in two. I imagine after he beat him into dust Trent would say something along the lines of "go write a song about it for the special 2 year anniversary edition of Zeitgeist, sadboy." Of course TR calling anyone sadboy would be quite hypocritical.

not that i hold any illusions that Trent ripped Billy off or something, but i did find Ghosts reminding me of Stigmata too. now i got no probs comparing the two guys as artists as long as we're not getting into the my-rock-star-is-better-than-your-rock-star silliness. they obviously have more in common than not when it comes to musical sensibilities, and as far as Stigmata & Ghosts go, i'd say they had similar aims with each project and share some influences. so did Billy beat Trent to the punch? yes. is Billy the greatest of all time? sure. does Trent suck eggs? absolutely.

i guess not exactly. but still. It could've gone into the vault instead of being given away. I think billy is much less money hungry than people assume. It's no crime to sell your albums rather than give them away, but lately you'd think so (ok, i'm awaiting the multiple-copies-of-zeitgeist arguments to come crashing down on me now; yeah, i know, that sucked).

well on topic - trent has been making instrumental music in the same vein as ghosts for decades, even before billy wrote material for stigmata.

i think it's more similar to bowie instrumentals myself, i think you'll find both billy and trent being more influenced from bowie rather than copying each other.
