Twilight to Starlight....especially the live versions of those songs i.e. We Only Come Out at Night, Beautiful, Lily, Farewell goodnight(especially when James and D'arcy sing)...and theres still plenty of rock otherwise.

Twilight to Starlight definitely, it has ruby, 1979, by starlight, WBFTT...that's obviously something that can't be defeated.

really tough but I chose disc 1 because i think galapagos->muzzle->porcelina is the best three songs in a row ever.

Although I prefer Porcelina to Ruby (the two "epics" that are constantly compared), I picked Twilight to Starlight.

Bodies > 33 > In the Arms of Sleep > 1979 > TOASE > Ruby > Stumbleine > XYU

Best 8 songs in a row ever. EVER.

WBFTT into Bodies is the best opening to a CD ever. . . it just goes on to get better. That disc is a fucking trip. And I will consider my life a failure if I don't come up with a decent arrangement for Tales of a Scorched Earth on the acoustic; that song has some hardcore delicate beauty to it.

nothing really at fault with dawn to dusk. Some extraordinary songs but twilight to starlight wins hands down. Brilliant 14 songs, that run together really well.

I voted for disk 1, I think disk 1 gets overlooked because several of the good songs were singles and so people are sick of hearing them. Disk 2 is great, but Disk 1 gets my vote. It has my favorite solo on it (Here is no Why) and my favorite song (JellyBelly), so that boosts it over Disk 2. But I have no problems with the people who voted for Disk 2, to me it was close.

I am not really sure what disk I would choose, even after all these years. Some of my favorite Pumpkins tracks are on both discs.

Dawn to Dusk. Openings? You wanna talk openings? The opening to MCIS IS MCIS>TT. The flow of MCIS>TT, JellyBelly, Zero, HINW, BWBW, ToForgive, FUCK YOU. Changes lives. Period.

Then (mentioned above) Galapagos>Muzzle>Porcelina. Can't beat it. I love Twilight and actually listened to it for the first time in years, yesterday, but you have to be in quite a dark mood to listen to it. D2D brings the rock, hard. Other than ToForgive, which is probably the darkest SP song this side of InTheArmsofSleep. I'm rambling... but I think the real ringer here is FUCK YOU. Puts D2D over the top.

Siamese Dream is boring compared to Mellon Collie. Cherub Rock isn't all that great, Today is one of the most overrated SP songs of all time, Silverfuck is only exciting live. The rest are good songs, most of them great, but they don't compare to the wonder of Mellon Collie.

Just my opinion.

i don't get too excited about Cherub Rock or Today anymore either. but then just start at Hummer. Hummer through Mayonaise is easily the best multi-song stretch in the pumpkins catalog.

and the studio Silverfuck is sweet.

in summary, your opinion is wrong.
