People were all nervous with Tool last year and shit was fine. This'll be no different.

You're saying you didn't notice the change of crowd?

I felt like it was the worst crowd at any fest I've been to (even including DMB fans at Bonnaroo '05)...a lot less friendlier. A lot of people we talked to felt the same way and said this was their last Bonnaroo.

And yes, ciGarski, I'd live with hippies anyday. They're friendly, they share...and they're generally very chill. Other than the lineups, this is why I go to music fests.

But that's cool if other people are gonna enjoy the fest now and it's gonna be like another Coachella with a little bluegrass mixed in. It's just not for me...

Can't say that I did. I had good neighbors (one set who even loaned me a tent that they could have used for their group since mine was packed without the poles). My experiences in Centeroo with people were always friendly. Sitting here now I can't honestly think of one time where I saw or interacted with anyone I'd consider to be douchebaggy.

I had a great time last year, really. No complaints.

I thought Kanye was terrible at Lolla a couple years ago, so it's safe to say I won't be going to his set. But I'm actually looking forward to seeing Metallica again. I don't think I'd pay to see them on their own these days, but the couple times I've seen them previously have been real fun, and I don't expect this one to be much different.

Seems an awful waste of time to just wait when there's a ton of other things to see/hear at the same time.

I think the comedy tent is open when headliners are playing. Should be fun to see how long the line is before Metallica plays.

i agree with you, just saying i'm not jumping out of my boots over the announcement. i have seen both bands live multiple times and i KNOW i'll have a good time during the shows. it could certainly be alot worse...

same here....i thought everyone was super friendly and nice and helpful. we practically merged with several neighbors into one big party area, looking out for eachothers shit, sharing everything we had, etc. good times.

Oh, heh.

For that, plan on being in your car while moving slowly on the side of the road for 3-4 hours. You may get lucky and get in sooner, but don't plan on it. If your car has problems with overheating and/or the cooling system, don't bring it.

ok i take back my earlier comment. redbulls rumors are the bestest rumors. please keep them coming.

btw, heard anything else on the fatboyslim, lcd soundsystem, mark ronson front?

they'll probably wait until at least the first ticket price change i suppose, before letting all the cats out of the bag. as unhippyish as it seems, thats how i believe it went last year.

I love seeing Patti Smith. I hope that rumor turns out to be true. She was one of my favorites from the 04 Roo and also at Lolla last year. She's just amazing.

I certainly wouldn't mind another Volta late set either. Just not against Sigur Ros.

Mars Volta is getting some heavy traction.

oh, and Chris Rock was added if you didn't see. first time a comedian will be on a main stage vs. the comedy tent. i saw him friday night in chicago. fucking hilarious. his routine was based a lot on current events and chicago, so hopefully the roo set won't be a complete rehash like when Chappelle and Seinfeld go on tour.

did you get the first wave of tix for the $209.50 price? i picked thes eup an hour before the radiohead shows went onsale. surprised to check back later int he weekend and see they were on the last price point already. damn.

yea, it was pretty dirty...though not as bad as the "tossed salad" hbo special. that guy's all about the delivery. thats what makes his shit so funny, imo.

not sure if they'll share time @ bonnaroo, but with these guys as his opening act, the crowd was pretty pumped up by the time Rock came on. i think as far as having a comedian who can sustain a massive crowd at a music festival like bonnaroo, Rock is probably one of the best choices.

I believe you missed both of them two years ago. Or at least Mars Volta.

That was my first Bonnaroo and I drove the whole way there, we waited in line for 4 or 5 hours and then I nearly died of heat exhaustion, so I went to sleep and slept through most of the first night's show. Missing Mars Volta.

They were at the last price point within a couple hours of the onsale.

As for the new additions... Cat Power is good. Maybe Eddie Vedder can guest with her on Good Woman and whatever other song he sings with her on that album.
