rbg is pissed off because I threw my vote away and refused to vote within the two party system. Apparently he wanted me to vote for Romney, knowing that I was not going to vote for Obama.

When Medicare Plan B was passed most Dems and especially progressive Dems were opposed to the law. But they did support measures later on to help improve it and make it work better.

contrast that today with the fact with what's happening with the ACA. Republicans are actively sabotaging it, and they're getting a helping hand from a lazy media and ignorant voters who can't bother to figure out wtf is going on.

Half of the reason the roll-out has been so rough is that so many republican controled states refused to participate with their own exchange, pushing all those people into the federal exchange and leaving millions of people without any coverage at all.

When it comes to shorcomings in the law, Congress could act right now to pass improvements to the law. But the House isn't going to. In fact they've had 4 dozen seperate votes to repeal the ACA altogether.

The ACA was passed 2 years ago. Critics of the law have had two years to propose and pass improvements to the law. That's not Obama's fault.

no I'm not. Although protest voting in the United States defies logic, that is irrelevant to anything that has been said for about a dozen pages. I'm pissed because of your propensity towards arguing through straw man by purposeful "misinterpretation" (read: deliberate manipulation) of everything I say into ridiculous bombastic extremes that you evidently see as easier to knock down anything I am actually saying.

i think a good system would be just making doctors not charge like a million dollars for their services
i mean my co-pay for my therapist is $50
why exactly does she need to earn more than $50 for 45 minutes of talking to someone
it's a bigger scam than insurance
if you were gonna tell me i'd make $50 an hour i'd get serotonin poisoning and die from the happiness

just something to think about

although i did hear on the communist sympathizing NPR station that the administration is going to make it increasingly difficult for insurance companies to avoid reimbursing mental health claims

it's currently "illegal" but i guess they have to make it more illegal i don't know

67% of americans do not recieve assistance for psychological costs.

therapists are essential self employed. they pay rent, for their own materials, for continuing education, conferences, professional organization fees, a billing company to take care of insurance, and probably plenty of things i'm not thinking of. they are on call 24/7. and they spend a shit ton on college. you are not just paying for 45 minutes; you're paying for their years of school and expertise as well as all of the things i've already mentioned.

i do agree though that most doctors, including therapists, could stand to be paid less. there's just more to it than sitting a listening to someone for 45 minutes. i also don't pay my doctor the full copay. negotiate. it is also strange that PhD psychologists and Master's level therapists and social workers charge the same thing, even though the PhD has put much more time and money into their degree. insurance does pay them less in general, but their "charge" isn't much different, if at all

Medicare also only pays out mental health care at 65% of the amount charged. Looking at my last statement:

Therapist charged $150, medicare approved $122.65 (81%) and paid their share of $78 (65% of approved amount) I paid $25 on top of that, but Medicare expects me to pay $42.93 (35%). Why do they only pay 65% for mental health?

For my food doctor whom I saw for 2 minutes, he charged $85 and medicare approved $77.06 (91%). they paid $60.42 and I paid $15.41, so about the 80/20 split that medicare does for everything else besides mental health.

pretty ridiculous.

DNC shill be shilling...that's all you got. That's why your perspective sucks and basically follows the lying logic that Obama is leading with.

The Supreme Court made the decision to let states opt out. Those states are doing so because the program is a sham, plain and simple. It's government controlled health care by proxy through the insurance companies and the legalize b.s. put in there by all those wonderful lobbyist.

Here's a poll that blows up this 'Red state-Republicans at fault' meme that the DNC shills are desperately trying for:

Poll: 78% of Uninsured Not Interested in ObamaCare

Quote:
Even more troubling is the realization that a month ago, that number was double; a full 44% of the uninsured said they would purchase insurance though the exchanges.

Over the course of a month, however, the reality of ObamaCare scared off half of that 44%. The high cost of premiums, the high deductibles customers have to pay regardless of any tax subsidy, and the unforgivable bungling of the rollout only discouraged those who we blew up a perfectly good health care system to help.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Governm...d-in-obamacare

Pretty ironic, but not surprising to me. We were all told 30 million people are uninsured and what a travesty that was and it was one of the biggest selling points of this Communist health care plan. Near 80% don't want any part of it and why should they in a free country?

psychologists i understand the rates. but with psychiatrists i find it kind of baffling they make around $200 grand to sit down with patients where 90% of the time the sessions last about 15 minutes and they just write a script and send you on your way.

i mean, it obvs varies with different kinds of psychiatrists. alot of them are paying off school most their career, and they did alot to get where they are. but its hard not to wonder exactly how much "work" they put into their practice sometimes
