Default brian jonestown massacre - my bloody underground

I am listening to this album now. You can download it on their site.
first three songs sound the same, but not in a bad way.

i've been listening to this alot lately. i really don't know what to think. some of the songs are good. i wouldn't say it's all bad. but i am kind of let down. it sounds pretty different from their other albums. of course, it has been 5 years since the last proper album (wasn't an album supposed to follow We Are The Radio?).

has anyone given this many more listens? any new thoughts? has it grown on you?

does "Infinite Wisdom Tooth/My Last Night In Bed With You" seem like it just cuts off for everyone else?

my favorites:
Bring Me The Head Of Paul McCartney On Heather Mill's Wooden Peg (Dropping Bombs On The White House)
Yeah-Yeah
Just Like Kicking Jesus (this is my favorite of the bunch, what an amazing fucking tune)

from the BJM forum:

Mind you my friend has never 'got' the BJM before and I know has only previously given them a cursory spin, but he was really enthusing about My Bloody Underground, but then he listens to loads of experimental electronica type stuff and I think that might be the answer to why the reviews are so good so far and why this might be a suprise to anyone more familiar with the BJM back catalogue who is struggling with My Bloody Underground. I think ears that are new to the BJM are not measuring it up against Antons' previous work and are hearing it fresh in its own experimental concept and for the most part, enjoying it. That's my impression anyhow.

i think most of the songs are promising but need to be cut down. i hope these are just demos, as if he edits the album i think it could be really good.... he's always had some stupid song titles but now he just seems to be trying to be a dick.

i dont know why i dont hate this band. they're just so listenable, perfect doing the dishes when you're sad and high music. yeah this album is their best in the last decade or so.
