I've said it before, but I must say it again. Your Moleasskiss on the Ghost Children tribute kicks ass. I like it better than the original - which is quite an achievement.

-Ben

Note: I've also heard your Untitled and TTEOR which were good too. If you ever do a whole album of pumpkins tributes, I will be first in line to buy it from you.

Their singer fucking sucks. I don't think he got a single lyric right in TOASE. Other than that, they were pretty good. Godawful piece of shit singer though, just shittily pathetic.

It's a nice cover band, but the singer needs to follow the song sometimes

I can't stand people who say things like this. Someone can have an opinion on a song and just because they cant do the same or better doesn't make their opinion any less valid. If I say "this piano part sounds like it was played by a retarded narcoleptic" it doesn't matter that I couldnt play piano for my life.

His comment was stupid, but indeed Christophe is hard to understand because he is French. Thus, his comment was not completely baseless. Their covers are excellent, even though their vocalist struggles singing in English.

No, see, it's a mini private joke between myself and guitar virtuoso ZackZ here - he was laughing at people saying the Bury Me solo was difficult, so I asked him to put up a clip of him playing it, which resulted in some widdling with no resemblance to the melody of the real solo. We both enjoy me bringing it up on a regular basis.

Besides, there's constructive criticism and then there's outright shit-talking. He was going for an insult, plain and simple. And of course knowing a little about something lends validity to your opinion - if you can't play piano, how would you know how easy/difficult it is to play a certain piece? It's hard to judge a performance until you actually know what is required to produce what they've achieved.

But that's the thing, he's not commenting on the vocal track's difficulty, he's saying the performance is weak, and considering that English is the vocalist's second language (I assume), it is difficult for him to pull it off. Difficult, yes. Is he talented, yes. Does it sound pretty rough, yes.

That's bullshit, when you hear Billy singing a new electric song most of you Americans get the wrong lyrics.

I remember the time i made some US friends listen to the excelent FM broadcast of Roskilde'97, they were like :
"What the Hell is this guy singing, i can't understand a word".

Wouldn't the only you could base a vocalist's talent on be how he sounds singing?

you're right, I have a few copies of it left. email me if anyone would like to purchase one.

and to set the record straight; Christophe is one of the most interesting, musically talented and flamboyant people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and playing with. give respect where it's due and bow down at this man's feet.
