you know, guys, i think it's because of what debaser said and decmber 25th was also a major religious holiday (for the sun) in rome before christianity became mandated as their official religion.

it just so happens that december 21,22 is the winter solstice (for the sun, the shortest day of the year) and super important to scandinavians who worshipped thor and such.

so it's both a coincidence, but also had compromising reasons.

i think i almost thought you were serious about the jew comment because it is not terribly untrue.

people are so afraid to say that they were even complicit in his execution, but mob mentality and whatnot played a factor in many jews denouncing him as their king and him being charged with sedition by the romans. and they further complicated it by (if historical, not biblical records are true) by not sparing him over that barrabas fellow.

people are just afraid of sounding like a drunken mel gibson.

i think a lot of people were responsible for the death of jesus...especially jesus!
