i've had problems getting to www.newsarama.com before, and eventually figured out i had to put the ip address into the HOSTS file. so i did and everything was groovy. then it starts not working again today so i fix it again(i guess they changed IPs) and now it works, but only if i take out the "www." when going to it.

this wouldn't be a problem, except images/links dont work cause they all have the "www." as part of them. anyone know why this might be?

Do you only have a newsarama.com entry? You'll need one for each subdomain (whatever.newsarama.com)

yeah i did all the sub sites. and actually it just started working out of nowhere a minute ago.

dude. you have DNS issues. if you can hit the IP but not the name it's a DNS problem. call your provider.
