Default Anyone go see Beowulf in 3D?

I took Mark last night to go see it, I wasn't really all that interested in seeing it but I was actually really impressed. It was kind of a visual assault and at times I felt like I was on a ride...it was really neat though. I thought it was done really well...I think if you're going to go see this movie you need to see it in 3D.

Also, that Neil Gaiman Coraline movie looks pretty awesome (director from Nightmare Before Christmas)...3D movies have come a long way.

I wouldn't doubt it. I mean, it was pretty much all done around the fact that it was 3D. All the crazy moments wouldn't be nearly as crazy, you know? I thought the story was done well and everything, it's just that all the "camera" angles are meant to give you the feeling like you're really there...weird perspectives and all that.

I jumped and flinched several times.

Did you see it on the Imax screen?

It was definitely worth seeing there and, like you, I was pleasantly surprised. There's one scene where he's cutting down the middle of whatever monster and the blood just pours right on you... that was pretty cool.

Hah yeah! The sea monsters, I think, right?

No I didn't get to see it at Imax, the only one here is Navy Pier and I'm not a big fan of trying to go to Navy Pier.

One of my favorite parts was *spoiler alert maybe? not like anyone cares*

toward the end when he's swinging around on the dragon and he starts to fall and almost falls on that spike...I loled because it was just that cool. The way he just dangles over it... I also LOVED the sea monster bit and all the various "flying" scenes they had. It made my tummy drop at times.

They were glasses and yeah...I had a little trouble with them because I had to put them over my current glasses, but after a while I didn't even notice them.

This flick is great in 3-D. As stated above, it's only worth it in 3-D. I was very skeptical going in, but the movie delivered (in 3-D). Did I mention that it's not worth it in 2-D? I too had to wear the 3-D glasses over my regular ones...a bit annoying at first but worth it. Also, the movie has some cool actors (Anthony Hopkins, Angelina Jolie, John Malkovitch).

He did. Neil Gaiman wrote Coraline. I edited it afterward and I guess that made it seem like I was saying Neil Gaiman was the director. I mean with the director. Whatever. They're both doing the movie.

Same here. I think because of that, it made the things that were really close and around the edges (i.e., looking from behind someone's shoulder) look a little weird. Mark said he didn't notice anything so I'm sure it was because my glasses didn't match up with theirs. But it wasn't really a big deal.
