Ah, the wonderful logic of a Yankees fan.

What's with this "no prominent Red Sox" shit? Mo Vaughn and Roger Clemens not prominent enough for ya? Just because the report doesn't indicate that Clemens used before 1997 doesn't mean he didn't, it just means Mitchell didn't have the evidence. Also, two members of the defending World Champions isn't exactly a good thing.

Yeesh, take off the pinstriped colored glasses.

if anything, this makes theo look kind of bad, trading for a player he already suspected of steroid use.

Mo Vaughn started as an Angel. Roger started as a Blue Jay.

Are you fucking kidding me? And then the puff piece on St. Theo checking on Gagne? I love how there's a Red Sox official conducting the investigation and when no (meaningful) Red Sox come up, these three Sox fans accuse everyone else of being biased.

Who was mentioned, Gagne? The guy they got for 1/2 a season, sucked it up and now is a member of the Brewers? Yeah what a surprise Mitchell didn't defend him or Brendan Donnelly.

i don't like the conflict of interest either but all the no meaningful sox being named could mean is that there was no larry bigbie equivalent around the organization to rat on anyone. and i don't think theo comes off particularly well -- he inquires about the steroid histories of gagne and donnelly, is told that they probably juice, and trades for them anyway.

Since when is an adviser to a team who isn't full time an official?

Your logic is so flawed in that last post I can't even wrap my head around it ... you believe Mitchell sat on this report to match Gagne leaving the Sox. lol

This all couldn't have happened to a better motherfucker in Roger Clemens, though.

Also can we all just admit that a report about PEDs in MLB doesn't even mention Barry Bonds? Whose testimony already leaked? Who is currently under indictment?

I am willing to fully believe that if Mitchell can't even get any evidence on Bonds then he could have easily turned the other way on, say, Curt Schilling and Manny Ramirez.

The Red Sox refer to advisers to their board as directors; he has no stake in ownership, voting rights in organizational matters or any direct association with the office of the general manager.

... then he ignored what everyone said and traded for the fuckup. You must be employed by ESPN - you're both spinning badly.

How the hell is it possible that baseball threads always become Yankees vs. Boston. I mean, come on guys.

I'm actually kinda pissed that few players were named. I was expecting a ton of white sox players. Specifcally, Konerko, Dye, Rowand.

Anyones favorite players get outed? Just curious. I mean actual favorites, not just some loser who plays/played on your club.

I wasn't a giant fan of Clemens, but I did respect him at times. That shit with Piazza being the only thing I hated him for. I don't think he deserves hall of fame induction based on when he started, and how it has helped him since, but he'll be in. Eventually, they will let him in.

I've always hated Clemens (even when he was with Boston) but it's hard for me to enjoy something like this. I'd rather hate him because he's a prick, not because he used steroids.

I was pretty sad to see Brian Roberts named. He is one of my close friends' favorite players and seemed pretty much on the straight and narrow. I wonder if his nutjob dad pressured him into it.

i briefly watched ESPN today and one bit I saw made the Roberts info seem incredibly flimsy. so i'd wait a little while before getting upset about him. and can't Clemens beign a prick go hand in hand with him asking a dude to stick needles in his butt?

Seeing F.P. Santangelo's name (and check) on the report piqued my interest. He's part of a 3-man sports talk morning radio show here in sacramento everyday. I've caught him on the radio countless times during my morning commute. I didn't catch the show this morning and apparently he took the day off today anyways. I wonder if he's going to be on tomorrow to face the public.

Now that the Rocket is out of the running there can be no question that Greg Maddux is the best pitcher of his generation.

its funny you say that, last night me and my bro were like, defintely konerko, dye and rowand, specifically, the latter two, they had incredible seasons out of nowhere.
