Talking Township Auditorium

Alright, yes I'm a newbie, this is my first post, but I'm am long time fan.
I have FINALLY gotten my ticket to see SP!
:P the music gods are smiling down on me because it's quite amazing that I'm going. Not only did I manage to win one ticket for a good price without having to fight for it (guess no one else was willing to go alone), not only is the concert on a Friday night during a non-busy week (i'm an 18 credit hour college student so time is limited), but the Smashing Pumpkins are coming to play in Columbia, South Carolina! No one comes to play here! Least of all my favorite bands!

So anyways now that my excitement rant is done, who else is going?
and does anyone know how this venue is about cameras?

You can't take anything that anyone says here seriously. This is the right forum, and I will be at the Columbia show rocking along with you.

Ever since Tuesday's news, I've had this feeling that the rest of the scheduled dates--the Columbia, SC show being the last of them--would be canceled/postponed. I know there's been no announcement yet, but that's just my gut feeling. If Jimmy needs a week of rest, why go back out and play one or two shows right after that? I guess they might attempt to reschedule the postponed shows as soon as possible after Nov. 9, but it just seems to me like they won't play any of the currently scheduled dates as currently scheduled. I hope I'm wrong.

I know! I just saw the rescheduled dates and I was so worried! I knew I wouldn't get to go if the 9th was cancelled.

btw, since this is my first SP show, about how long do they usually play? And the opening band?

On this tour, SP is playing around 2 hours to 2:15 on average. You can check www.spfc.org and then go to the tour history section to see some recent setlists. Explosions In The Sky have been getting around 40 minutes.

I'm going. I'm worried about what time I should line up to get in because I don't get off work until 2 and it'll be an hour drive.
Anyone have any idea about when people have been showing up?

If you get there 4 hours before doors, you're not going to be on the rail, but probably no more then 2-3 people back.

Man the drive so far from NC to SC has been very boring. I feel like I am going to southern california driving highway 5. They have two lanes and field that splits the two direction. But at least they have trees here on I-95

:P That would be nice.

What part of N.C. you coming from???? Yah I had to drive two hours up to Charlotte in January to see the Chili Peppers. It just seemed like a really long time cuz I was ready to get to the show But really any drive across a few states is nothing to me anymore. I've driven cross country four times now - THAT"S long....

Yah, I hate this state except for Charleston....and some parts of Five Points
