Telling people that they're on your Ignore list, IMO, kind of defeats the purpose of having an Ignore list. The only rational reason for this course of action, I would surmise, is that you want to advertise to the person in question as well as to the rest of Netphoria that you consider that said poster to be beneath you. This can often make or break the reputation of members on the board, newbies or otherwise, particularly if members of the Netphoria Mafia decry you as being Ignore-worthy. If you're not good enough for the L337 of this board, you're not good enough for this board period. Have fun swapping small talk with the other fly-by-night twits that nobody will remember in three months.

The Netphora Mafia likely consider this a form of Social Darwinism, and a way for them to have fun at the expense of "lesser members" on this board, and as a way to advertise to the rest of the board who the blatant dumbasses are that typically NOBODY wants to bother with, in effect indirectly doing a great service to the board. Other members might construe it as blatant ego-stroking on the part of the Mafia. And others probably just don't give a shit one way or the other.

telling people they're on ignore should serve as a wake-up call. requires some level of boarding credentials on the part of the poster serving notice, though
I dont know. Its just funny seeing people mention that someone is on ignore. Like now that they know they'll stop posting or something.

The internet must make you feel very bitter for you take all this time to over intellectualise such a dull topic.
