Good comment about mobile QBs being kryptonite to Michigan. The key to stopping mobile QBs are quick, speedy linebackers, and Michigan's LB corps has always been big and slow; capable of delivering big hits, but inept at pretty much everything else.

i love how linebackers keep getting faster so they can drop back in coverage in an increasingly pass heavy game, but michigan is still using them as support against the run

the game has obviously passed lloyd carr by

Very little in football is more painful to watch than U of M's linebackers doing their best Keystone Kops impression while trying to chase down a mobile quarterback or defend the pass. It probably will take a coaching change before Michigan starts going after linebackers with speed and range as opposed to LBs who are plodding run-stuffers who can deliver big hits but little else.

yeah well until now texas tech has had quarterbacks that turn over the ball too much. go check out graham harrell's stats. I'm going to go ahead and pick Tech over Texas right now.

i feel like when you play a 4-3 you need one guy that is like that, your middle line backer but your outside guys need to be quick. shit on a 3-4 you need two of them since you sacrificed a DT but still, at least one of those MLBs need to be fast enough to cover a reveiving tight end.

I agree. I would rank them:

LSU
Oregon
OU

And really, Oregon and OU could go either way.

Ok, that says nothing about this Oregon bias that you accuse me of, still with no substance.

Also, I have done no such jacking off - I have made a legitimate case for the Pac-10 being number one or two and used the exact same arguments that 4/5 of the sportswriters out there are using. Please show me any outlandish or radically biased statement I have made in favor of the pac-10.

Why do I have to do this every year?

you are an Oregon fan, and Oregon is in the pac10. fans always build up their teams' conferences to make it seem like their team is better. this is not a groundbreaking discovery I'm making.

and the Pac10 is easily #2. but bad losses by USC and Cal knocked it out of contention for #1. and i don't see what defense you've offered against those. i divided up the teams into tiers that match up the two conferences pretty well. if you can address that point and tell me where i'm wrong, i might concede something.
