it sounds really interesting. i mean, i wish i had that kind of time to just jerk around by myself. i used to hate being alone under any circumstances but now i find myself kind of liking it sometimes. maybe that's just because i get maybe an hour a day at the most now.

You've said a lot of dumb things Eulogy and this is by far the worst. The Pac-10 has two to four teams capable of this depending on who you talk to.

Auburn and Arkansas are both well overrated in general. You take McFadden's name out (not his ability just the Heisman buzz there) and they are down in tier four. That is probably too objective an analysis for SEC diehards though.

defend the "objective" statement that Mississippi State > Vanderbilt.

i misread trots's quote of you.

but anyway. the way USC is looking, they're out of the title picture for all intents and purposes. Cal and Oregon are the only two teams that would stand a realistic chance against the top two tiers of the SEC.

and nothing i've said is as dumb as you saying that the Pac10 is the best conference in the country.

nah that's not dumb. stop jacking off to the sec. Cal, Oregon, and USC are all tier 1 and shit that's better than most conferences. South Carolina is not a legitimate title contender.

you told me the big 12 was shitty a week ago, too.

Ok

USC/Cal/Oregon vs. LSU/Kentucky/Florida (why you refuse to ******* SC is beyond me, but we'll do it anyway). who wins that one?

Auburn/South Carolina vs. Arizona St. --no other Pac10 team is on this level.

Alabama/Tennessee vs. UCLA/Washington

everyone else is pretty much just shitty. so please explain to me how the Pac10 comes out on top here. i seriously do not understand it.

why does that make me an asshole? if you can look at those divisions and either tell me they're wrong or tell the Pac10 stacks up better, then fine. but i don't think you would.

what's with the other USC bandwagon by the way? they were tier 3 last year you can't make a two tier jump without beating a tier 1. You know once S Car beats Florida or LSU i'll entertain the idea that they are teir 1 but they're still 3 right now.

kentucky is not 1, they are 2.

i can't really say since i haven't watched either conference this year since i am your resident big xii expert

however, it feels like the SEC is kind of weak this year compared to last.

kentucky is not 1, they are 2.
South Carolina's body of work is more impressive than Southern California's, is it not? Southern Cal's best win is against....who? Nebraska? then they lose to Stanford and have to come from behind against Arizona? a team that appears to be even worse than they were supposed to be? i put kentucky in "tier 1" on the basis that southern cal was also being considered in tier 1. if you're removing kentucky, you have to remove southern cal. forget the pre-season hype and recent history, because USC hasn't done anything impressive this year.

I still have hope for Cal and Oregon because at times they have looked truly awesome.

i think you and jczeroman are the only two people on the planet who would say this.

Alabama, South Carolina, and Kentucky are all loads better than they were a year ago. Arkansas is playing as shitty as it did in spots last year. Florida is still very good, Auburn is solid, and LSU is the best team in the country. LSU, Kentucky, SC, and Florida could all be legit top-ten teams at the end of the year.

see i hope this is sarcasm. it's not just that they haven't beaten anyone. it's that they've looked totally pedestrian beating Idaho, Washington St., and Arizone. while losing to Stanford.

That's ridiculous. I'm willing to accept that Auburn is a Tier 3 team like you say, but I don't see how Arkansas losing by low single digits to Tier 3 Alabama and Auburn, and letting Tier 1 Kentucky off the hook late suddenly puts them on the level of Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. There's a wide chasm between the middle of the the SEC and the bottom, and Arkansas right in there with the Auburn, Bama, and Georgia crowd, not the Vandy, Ole Miss, MSU crowd.

Any other coach in the country other than Nutt would have Arkansas at least 5-1 and sitting pretty in Tier 2 right now. Arkansas was not overrated, they've just been undercoached. But they haven't been coached down to Mississippi State levels by any stretch of the imagination. If you're gonna be objective, fine, but there's nothing objective about the way you're pushing down teams (and not just Arkansas) below their rightful ranking in order to make the SEC look weak.

tier 4 is defined as " teams that play other, higher tiered teams fairly close but don't have the talent/discipline to get over the hump."

if they won even one of those games they'd be 3.

let's check those super-subjective computers

1. South Florida
2. LSU
3. South Carolina
4. Kentucky
5. OSU/ASU
7. BC
8. VT/KU
10. WVU

i mean those aren't perfect by any stretch of the imagination....but yeah. something to think about.

GAY!

USC isn't on that list because they got upset by Stanford.

Michigan is still a good team even though they got beat by App State.
