At least there's one program in this country willing to not wait around to shake things up and change course when things are going wrong.

Meanwhile, Houston Nutt and Frank Broyles are still sitting pretty here in Arkansas at least until the end of the year. At least Broyles is definitely leaving...maybe he'll save his legacy by firing Nutt on his way out of the door.

You are ignoring ASU and Auburn is no Tier 1 team. Even Florida is probably out of Teir 1 at this point as is South Carolina. Remember that tier 1 is reserved for national championship contenders.

The SEC also has juggernauts like Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Mississippi, Mississippi State in their bottom tiers.

You actual have it like this, from a more objective observer:

Tier 1:
LSU, Kentucky

Tier 2:
South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida

Tier 3:
Georgia, Auburn, Alabama

Tier 4:
Mississippi State, Arkansas

Tier 5:
Mississippi, Vanderbilt

Also for all the "SEC greatness" they don't even play everyone, where the Pac-10 plays a full round robin and the SEC schedule is always balanced by the softest NC schedule in BCS football.

by your logic, the pac-10 has no tier 1.

Oh come on. Arkansas doesn't deserve to be lumped in with that group. Houston Nutt hasn't dragged down the team that far yet (despite his very best efforts to do so). Arkansas is still a solid middle tier SEC team even despite their underachieving thus far. They're a lot closer to Alabama and Auburn than they are to MSU and Vanderbilt.

Or at least I hope to God they are.

Florida is also better than you give them credit for, and I don't see how you can say UK is a title contender and So. Car. (who beat UK) isn't.

If Arizona State, Southern Cal, California, or Oregon win out, any one of those could easily turn up in the title game.

and if notre dame had gone undefeated, they could have ended up in the title game as well.

title contenders =/= teams that have hope of a title still within sight

Notre Dame's going to start it's third different qb this season. Genius is making a hell of a mess up there.

it's dumb because three years ago, we weren't ranked in the pre-season. this year, we weren't ranked in the pre-season. and of course, it shows a poll that notre dame isn't even in.

I haven't talked to my friend who's an ND fan in awhile...I'm still wondering if he'll stand by his belief that in two years ND will be a national title contender. I'll admit that for awhile I bought the argument that ND's talent pool this year was either too green or too Willingham to be any good (Tyrone's last two recruiting classes before he was fired were lauded as some of the worst ever by any school)...but jeez. What it may come down to now is the question of whether or not Weis can develop young talent. So far, the answer seems to be no.

i agree with your friend. two years from now, we will be good.

and sppunk, Sharpley has already played quite a bit. he has led the offense on four scoring drives. clausen has led them on 3 (one drive of 2 yards, and one of 11 yards).

Oh, I wasn't denying Sharpley's not better. It just seems a lot like Weis has no clue about what's going on.

Two years from now ND will be good IF Weis can show that he can develop those touted recruits of his.

I think Weis is like Ron Zook in that he's a great recruiter but a hit-and-miss coach.

i think he had an eye toward next year as soon as last year ended. and clausen should be better than he is. he looks absolutely awful. he stares STRAIGHT AT HIS INTENDED RECEIVER from the moment the ball is snapped. and NEVER looks for a different option.

bah.

i always play dartmouth

i had this illinois team that was unbelieveably good they beat them 127-0 and I simmed the game. I think that Illinois team allowed like 15 rushing yards a game.

nah no chance. that illest team was fucking incredible. I import players into madden and like six or seven of them are already stars in the NFL in their fourth or fifth year.

the one below heisman. i think it's all-american. i still lose some games, especially when i play rivalry games with even matchups so i don't really wanna switch.

sometimes I play myself I had one game yesterday between #6 Ohio and #20 Central Florida that I was going to blow out UCF so took control and I brought them back to tie with 28 seconds left then won it with Ohio...heh.

oh it does. it's my hobby i guess. i mean i recruit for six teams, and I play matchups of teams week to week that I don't even recruit for, you can kind of indirectly help teams by winning big games. Baylor is a powerhouse just because of this. I sim the whole regular season on Madden and then play all the playoff games and do all the teams drafting and rosters and trades. Yes, the NFL offseason takes about 30 hours to do.

I have no life, and once I get a career going this will probably fall by the wayside or with my spare time I just won't do anything productive.
