i worked at a pizza joint who didn't even pay the drivers at all other than tips. some people are so selfish and short sighted. i mean that's what happens when all you can see in front of your nose is your colon.

Eulogy nobody thinks delivery drivers would work just for tips because surely nobody is that stupid.

All the pro-tipping folks in this thread pretty much convinced me of jczeromans point. Tipping is demeaning to all those involved.

apparently enough people did because i would usually make $80-$120 cash for about 6 hours on a saturday. i took the job because i was told the money was decent. and it was.

but if i only delivered to douchebags who didn't tip, i would have been screwed. i don't know why it seems like people get off on fucking over the delivery person. LOL THEY HAVE A SHITTY JOB. LET'S MAKE DAMN SURE THEY REGRET IT! LOL.

Yes. If it weren't for the whole wearing your car down and risking showing up at KrazeeStacee's doorstep, delivery driving would definitely be the more appealing job choice.

but then think about delivery people in big cities like chicago and new york on bicycles...

Where did you work that you got paid nothing other than tips? I delivered pizza for a bit and still got paid what my non-delivering coworkers did, plus tips.

I know it's not quite delivery, but I work as a valet and park cars at a restaurant. I open doors for people and take their cars, then when they are done I run like 3 blocks to our parking lot and drive their car to them. The tips vary a lot. There's a $6 service charge I have to pay to the restaurant, sometimes people just give me that, sometimes people don't notice or something and try to not pay, most times people give me $2-4, but some people give me $20 bills for a $14 tip. When you work a night with really good tips and a lot of cars, it makes nights with just a few cars really annoying. But after working a job that I get tipped, I've started to tip other people better.
