I was 900% certain this was Explosions In the Sky whilst watching the film, but, shockingly, its Danny Frickin Elfman. Doing his best EITS impersonation, sure, but pretty decent. (Director Berg used them in "Friday Night Lights" and guess didn't get them for Kingdom so maybe he gave a CD to Elfman and said, "Do that!")
Weird, doesn't sound like that trilling violins shit that Elfman does at all. Shocking, really.

Yeah, I thought the EXACT same thing during the entire movie. It was a complete ripoff of their sound. I sat thru all the credits to see if it was them. I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't. What a fucking fantastic band.

Yeah, I stuck around and was quite confused when I didn't see them in the musical credits. Not to take away from what Elfman did, its really good. I think the music in the scenes gave them an emotional quality they didn't quite earn but the music got it there. That was the only guitar part I remember, but I'll probably try to find the soundtrack so I can get more.
