Yeah, I've done shrooms. The last couple times I've had bad experiences, so I'm even wary of those now.

I think I just can't let go enough to truly enjoy it. I just get past a point where I can't help but be fearful I'm losing control and then it gets shitty from there. I wish I knew how to fix this.

the first time i tripped on acid I had a really bad trip and thought I would never do it again. about 6 months later I had an ideal setting and had read about it more and decided to do it. I had a great time and have probably tripped about 50 times in 2 years (the last time was March 2006). I candy flipped that day and saw a festival... I was tripping balls/rolling face during NIN and for hours at a hotel afterwards. and that's my short acid story. I always got the same acid (very good quality), but E was more variable... those were the best ones I ever got I think out of maybe 20 times

Just constantly remind yourself, you're on drugs.

That's definitely the problem, a lot of people can't let go enough like you're saying - so I'd suggest just making sure you're in the right environment with the right people...and also you may be taking too little. I've found with mushies that if you don't take enough, it's like you don't cross that threshold where you're able to just ride the drug...instead you're in that spot where you're still fighting it and mostly just feel anxious. You just gotta relax and remember, you're on drugs! And then I suggest smoking a few bowls
