Imagine going to a concert to see the pumpkins, waiting all fucking day to see the pumpkins while listening to other shitty bands, and standing about 20 rows from the stage... Crowd surfers, other people. Fuck that. Keyword: splurge, note: I work and save money for these types of things.

Fuck that. I'm buying a single-day ticket for Saturday when they go on-sale next week. The Austin to New Orleans drive should be fun Maybe I should take up smoking again.

I don't mind fighting the crowd surfers because my ticket was only $100. VIP is not that important to me when it's my first time seeing the Pumpkins.

Are they seriously playing for 2 hours?

This is one of the only fests with a band lineup (and set lengths) that would justify the price and arriving before the Pumpkins took the stage.

Edit: exnay on the band lineup thing...sort of. RATM would be worth it though.

If you think about it, its 450$ for 3 days of vip treatment...Thats not bad at all. You break it down per day and its 150$ per day.

Without VIP, you think I could get close to the front if I try to make my way up there during Spoon?

Picnic in front of the stage all day. It is the ONLY way to guarantee front row center for the main event. Or as I have thought of doing before, skydive into the front row when the pumpkins take stage...

Judging from the situation with RATM tonight, I think if I get there in time for Ben Kweller, I'll be able to eventually make it up there for when SP comes on.

Hopefully.

And RATM rocked soooo hard.

I heard near 100,000 were there last year, so this year's numbers may not be too far off from that. I was a little over 100 feet from the stage when Rage were on, and when I turned around to get a good look at the crowd behind me, I couldn't even see the end of it....So God only knows how many people showed up for them. And there were a lot of people around me talking about being psyched for the Pumpkins, so I imagine it'll be just as big tomorrow night.

Sorry...wish I could give you real numbers.....but I haven't heard any yet. As far as Rage's setlist, I can't remember at the moment exactly everything, but it was mostly hits (no Renegades of Funk though )

Cool, sounds like SP will be playing for a massive audience then. The biggest since Reading in England, I think?

I am not there... but I'm guessing 100K is an overestimate. Does Bonnaroo even draw that many? I always figured maybe 75K tops. Either way.. still a lot of peeps.

Man, I'm just about to leave Houston. I hope I'll be able to make my way up to somewhere reasonably close to the stage.

If all goes well, I'll update the setlist at the blog. Andrew's texting us since my Schoeps are down there with him. Should be interesting to see what they play.

Hope the Pumpkins are done before I have to go to my Halloween party.

Wonder if there is any chance they will show a replay of SP's set from 11PM-1AM CST on Sunday 10/28. On the webcast page it says "iClips Exclusive" for that time slot ( http://www.iclips.net/voodoo.php ). But I would bet on it being Rage's set before SP's
